I play mine in the bedroom, master a little bit above 2, volume 12 with fat switch on and I turn down volume on my stat to 7. It brakes up nicely and it’s not too loud at all.

This is how these demos should be done IMO. Gives a scale of what you'd be bringing home. I suspect a lot of people would be surprised to hear how loud this things can get.

A Marshall mini head at 0.1 watt can still wake up the neighborhood so the thing is if your neighbors are not on the same wall the amp is and it’s as loud as a television, it’s not your fucking problem if they don’t like your music you have the right to live your life at home

Best demo ever! Finally someone able to make us realize the sound in the room, and the volume gaps. Plus the little caption to understand what's going on! Fabulous. Thank you!

Take my word for it, I've been playing 40 years now. The Fender Blues Jr's 15W RMS is MORE than adequate for bedroom practice. This thing goes up to 10, but anywhere past 4 and the neighbors will be calling the cops. Past 6 and you can feel the wall of sound through your floorboards and at 10... well, it scared my kids into panic attacks. Don't underestimate what 15 watts RMS into a 12" celestion can do. It is waaaay loud and waaay sexy sounding, as Neil is showing here... It's all you need as a Fender Blues Jr imo. Play it at home or take it on stage and mic it up. Joe Bonamassa does. And btw, a Germanium distortion, like the Outlaw General into the Blues Jr is absolutely gorgeous and all you need to Blues out with the very best.

Spot on, wattage features more heavily in importance when you are talking about clean headroom. This is a loud amp which can be tamed, but when taming you (as you say) need some pedals to get your gain!. All the best, and stay safe.

Sounds dull, boring, colourless, just third class sound. This sounds good when you crank it up. I have the first version (1995) that sounds much middier than the new ones. I rarely use that amp because it sounds dull, boring, colourless at home and there is rarely an opportunity to turn it up. But when you turn it up it is really nice to listen to. To cut a long story short: A Roland Blues Cube Hot 30 does the job much much better AT ANY VOLUME. Fender is the brand that created mostly urban legends.

I own a Blues junior as well. I like the 3/3 sound with neck pickup the most.. Just a nice clean Fender tone.

I play at the same volume in the bedroom as on stage or in the studio . Only difference is that I don't mix it up through the p.a. Even that is because it's not practical to set up the p.a in my bedroom .

How does it sound on even lower volume? I need my amp to go pretty quiet. Is it still controllable?
@NeilSpencerBruce4 жыл бұрын
It is controllable but I would suggest that if you need a quieter amp than this might not be the best choice. Look at maybe a 5 Watt or solid state amp.

3 bed mid-terraced house... at 3/3 am I going to get the neighbours banging on the door? Thinking of buying one of these but afraid I won't be able to get it above 2 without getting into trouble.

I have done that for many years, so yes....depending if you have a LOUD drummer of not. You may not get super crystal clean, but certainly nice cleans. Having said that, I always have monitors so that also helps. All the best, Neil

it's ok if you want to hear what you play, but it sounds awful if you want to feel it. It's way too muffled, not the hint of that glassy at the edge of break Fender sound. So, for some praktice I guess it is ok..but for enjoyment..nah..Small room is small room and has it's physical limits and requiers an amp that can breathe. Think of it as if it's an heater or calorifier, so you want to ger warm but not to burn everything in the room. Small room, 1-5wat max if you want the sound (the air) to move and float..everything above, you have to throw some kind of a "blanket" over the amplifier, and that's exactly how this BJ sounds.
