Fender BXR Bass Amp Repair. 1/4 Input jack replacement.

EDIT:good you made this, but also watch the other tutorials on KZbin, the amp has a very good sound (jazz bass, p-bass, Spector active...all great sound! Guess the cheap parts -inputjacks- and the particleboard massive weight made it not desirable. So it can be had for little money ;). Sound amazed me, after I fixed mine ;) Tip: No need to take (and break) the knobs of the equaliser. Just unplug the flat cable on the board. Unsolder the broken jackplug: use a desolder tool. Cheap thing that looks like a sirenge. New no-name fender like plugs cost me less than €4 each at my local webstore. Since I bought it second hand for €60,-* that was a lot ;) *had to use lots of contactcleaner spray to make it work. Heavy but loud 1995 amp .

I have the same unit. One of the power cord brackets is busted. I cannot find a replacement anywhere. May have to print one

I don't see how you removed the jacks. Was it necessary to use a desolder tool?

I think you could use either a solder sucker (sorry if it is not the proper name, english is not my native language), solder wick or an hot air station. All of them should work good.

Nice tutorial. I need to change some potentiometers (gain and volume) and maybe the input jacks. --> Where did you find the part numbers ? And do you know a good webswite to buy them ? Thanks for your help

If they just sound scratchy they just need electrical contact cleaner "deoxit."

What new input jacks did you use?

I think you can use the Switchcraft 12A. Have better quality and the amp have the ground beetwen the chasis and the jack so I think the jacks don't need to be isolated. I'm gonna try this jacks on mi fender BXR next week
