Incorrect comparison. Franklin's bass has nylon strings.

I agree. Using the same strings, or at least the same type of string, would have made a better comparison. I still like this, though, because Bruno's playing is always so good.

Eugene Chek To be fair his Jaco signature has white tapewounds while his Tony Franklin signature has black ones. So they are in the same ballpark.

I love the sound of fretless (and love playing fretless, as well). It seems that with different strings being used on each bass the comparison between the two, if that was the intent, was somewhat pointless.

J’ai acquis une TF sunburst depuis peu et WOW 😮 quel manche et quelle sonorité... Du pur bonheur. Je conseille très fortement.

Comparer une pure Jazz Bass avec une PJ, des cordes qui sont très différentes... Dommage! Elles sonnent bien toutes les deux, mais c'est bien délicat de se faire un avis objectif.

What strings are on basses? Looks like black tape wounds on the Tony Franklin and roundwounds on the Jaco. Either way, beautiful playing.

Actually Tony Franklin has DR Sunbeams on his fretless P. I also installed DR Sunbeams on my Jazz fretless and will keep them :)

I have DR Sunbeams on my fretless Lakland P/J and they sound fantastic. I tried them because of Tony Franklin. In the video though the strings on the TF Bass are black and are not Sunbeams.

••• MOLNFABRIK ••• Le manche non ligné ne pose aucun problème particulier. Juste un peu d’adaptation. On s’y fait très vite. J’ai une TF sunburst et c’est réellement du pur bonheur.

Toutes les TF ont effectivement une touche en ébène. C’est réellement du plaisir de naviguer sur un tel manche. On s’adapte très vite au fait qu’il est non ligné. Je conseille très vivement cette basse. Je possède le modèle sunburst.
