Great as usual, I do love me some clash and its really fun music to learn, I remember being 14 and struggling through what I thought would be simple songs that turned out to be more involved than one would expect. If you are a songwriter, deep dive on some clash. Its a good additon to your musical vocabulary. As for the Tele, it sounds great. Peace and have a great weekend everyone

Well, as you're probably aware it was a 2 Guitar Crew with Mick Jones playing mostly Les Paul Specials and Standards. So understand that there are 2 Gutar parts. They Gelled well together and Micks voice was a bit higher and Joes had the Gravel and Growl. Yes, Great Band. I hope his Wife and Children see some of the Money from this but probably not.All the Best and keep Strummin'.

Thanks for the fantastic and insightful review, as always. I just ordered this guitar, as the price has dropped a bit now. It will hang proudly with the concert photo of me and Joe & along with the set list from the stage in Seattle where I saw the Mescaleros(sp) in ‘99. A follower since the 70’s, and still a die hard. Also, thanks for the tip on the stickers; I have a set of “new” ones, but the relic’d ones will actually go on the guitar! Cheers! 🤙

Although I don't comment every week, I do watch every week. Your Friday videos are an essential watch with a weekend glass of Malbec. Massive Clash fan - saw them 3 times and wish I'd been old enough to see them in 78 when they were probably at their live/excitement/chaos peak or have a time machine for early 79 when they were on their mission to take the US with the Pearl Harbour tour - the bootlegs from these gigs are electric! Also, saw Joe with the Meskies with this guitar at my favourite venue, Brixton Academy I refuse to call it the O2 Academy!! Hopefully, this isn't just a corporate exercise and some monies from the sale of this will go to the Joe Strummer Foundation. Given the cover of London Calling, I wonder if Fender will do a Paul Simonon Precision - preferably in the condition it was in prior to 21st September 1979 :) Anyway, great video and I am still waiting for you to get an MIJ Tokai Love Rock or any other MIJ LP style guitar...if you ever win the lottery, get a Navigator -- probably the finest LP guitars currently in production and on my bucket list if ever I win Euromillions. Take care, Colin, and carry on with the excellent reviews! John.

Wow, That's great you got to see them back then. My late older brother said they were the best Live Band he ever saw and he was a prodigious Guitarist that saw everyone from Ronson to Ralphs (Mott the Hoople) and was recruited by Magazine and Howard DeVoto for McGeochs replacement. True Story. Thames Sinclair. Flyboys/Choir Invisible. He actually was flown over to rehearse/Audition and got t it but subsequently passed to stay in L.A. with his M8's. He kicked his own Ass for that one. I loved the Clash early on.Very unique Guitar sound and important Band historically.

Love it! I have one of the original run Joe Strummer signatures and it's a great guitar. The Road Worn series are my favorite Made in Mexico Fenders, they all feel amazing. I'm hoping Fender will sell me the pickguard from this guitar, that was the only big flaw of the old run. Well that and the 3 saddle bridge instead of the correct 70s six barrel saddle bridge. However I do like the neck plate of the old run, it says Revolution Rock. Stay Free Colin!

My research on Seagrav(e) 3 suggests its in reference to the Nitro lacquer. Seagrave, formerly McFadden, is a nitro brand. Just ordered my tele this morning. I was lucky enough to see Joe play his guitar in person close in with the Mascalerous shortly before in death. I love the Clash so much and would love this but the price is very high I believe for what it is and it kind of goes against the spirit of the clash paying through the nose. For the same money you could get an American made Fender professional II.
@teriakamoto2 жыл бұрын
This is not American ? Mexican ? Lord, please not Indonesia. Yeah, Joe would have said he had a problem with the price but his ego would've been "Over the Moon". I agree, a little too much for what it is, but i have no problem saying i want one. Peace \m/
@Ledzepfan882 жыл бұрын
Honestly what you get is nothing short of spectacular try finding a nitro with 3 layer relic job. Outside the custom shop.. Wood is wood it doesn't care what country it's from. The rest comes down to hardware it can be upgraded. With good bones like this it's awesome
@Ledzepfan882 жыл бұрын
I might also add that yes for the same price you get the American professional ii with it's candy coated poly finish that won't wear, just chip.. if that's your thing.. to me it's worth it for the nitro alone. Let's me know if and when I dinged it. So I can be more careful next time, plus it Tells a story over time. I don't want a guitar that's going to look the same 2 centuries after I'm gone 😂 I want it weathered and checked with crazing in the lacquer as I myself age gracefully haha😂 but ymmv

Hi Colin, I have one of the first Stummer Mexican telecasters. It’s a great sounding guitar and the neck is superb. However, I’ve had issues with the relic finish. It started to bubble on the edge of the body, the layers of coloured paint began to separate, so badly so that I had to sand the edge down. I’ve seen one listed on reverb and if you look closely at the photos you can see the same defect. That one though has been left, so you see the blemishes in the paint. Really hope they have fixed that issue on the new ones as it’s a fantastic looking and sounding guitar. I’ve just checked on reverb and the guitar is still on there. Love your channel mate! ✌️
