I don't like most bass review videos but this one is great! Gives a honest review of the natural tone of the bass and the possibilities with it! Great vid!!

I find this bass very musical and pretty good sounding. With roundwounds as well as flats. Very good value Pbass IMO.

It's been the first commercially available bass anyways since the 50s and has been covering anything up to classic metal (iron Maiden)

i bought one of these and also a player jazz bass and the only "hot rod" i did was go with a Babiz bridge on both of them. I use these to do gigs and well not to sound morbid but if these get stolen then I'm not going to be as butt hurt if my American P and Jazz bass were to get stolen...with that said, I can HIGHLY recommend these as great instruments to play live with...My only regret is I wish these instruments were around when i was starting out!!

I'm watching this with the Player Bass I bought last week watching over my shoulder. It's zachary the same, they could be twins. It's relegated my MIA J bass to the 2nd team.

I had 2, both sounded and played great, but I traded them due to "green" necks that constantly needed truss rod adjustments.

you know Ive always been a Fan of Fender sound. But after buying a Fender American Performer bas New. I hated the noisy pick ups,drove me crazy every little movement of my fingers. Anyways swapped out the stock Fender Pick Ups for New EMGJX Pick ups. I love them. Then I upgraded the stock bridge for a New Babicz bridge. Love it to. Big Change in sound and playability. Its a Shame to pay $1600. after taxes. And have to pay another $600. into this bass from Fender to get it to play the way it should have played and sounded stock. A Black eye for Fender on this bass Money Wise Any ways. Stock. But were good now.

I have the same bass except with a rosewood neck but mine sounds like I’m muting it the whole time, any suggestions? I’m not liking that

Rosewood?

Try changing your pick-ups to Seymour Duncan ones, they have a hotter signal, less vintage more punchy.
@helsinkioslo8366 күн бұрын
Due to rosewood. They sound warm in general whereas maple sounds bright.

Dookie album tone for sure on that p bass but I think I’m wrong because I though Dookie was on a grabber

his grabber got broken just before they went in to the studio, so he had to use a precision bass

Looked at a fender player p-bass today. Same color as that even. Neck was so out of whack, it wasn’t playable past the 10th fret. And speaking of frets, they’d cut your finger if you slid it past the edge of one. If you want a fender jazz or pbass, get one pre 1980. New ones are trash
@joshL287 ай бұрын
Nah the player series are one of the best MIM Fender has made… quality pots, Alnico pickups, same tuners as American ones, etc. Seems like you just ran into a lemon or dud, which is expected with these “lower quality” Fenders but don’t judge the whole series based upon one bad experience. If you find a good one it will perhaps change your mind. Sharp frets are due to climate (temp/humidity), the blame should be placed upon the store you went to and how they are storing these basses. I already have a Player P bass but am watching this video as I want to replace my current one for one with this specific color.

Uneven volume and tone across the strings - the hallmark of P basses.
