Seems like no matter how many ways they sample a rhodes it never sounds like the real thing. I think this is because every time you hit a key the sound changes more than say a piano. I am hearing hundreds of velocity changes in the sound and the way it resonates
@Axcellomatic3 жыл бұрын
Yes, very true. It would need to be modeled by software to get close, but even then there is so much to take into account.
@NzGroove3 жыл бұрын

@@Axcellomatic Keyscapes is about the closest to sounding like a Fender Rhodes.
@edunabie3 жыл бұрын
@@jaggass I agree with Derek, but Keyscape does get you close. Im looking forwards to getting a better mac and trying keyscape maxed out (in terms of samples and round robins) and working on a speaker system that feels right. Iv only ever laid my hands on a rhodes 1 time when I was a boy, so can't really comment, but i can play keyscape for hours on end in a way i can't with nord and yamaha samples (ep's)

Does that thing have tubes in it and if so where do you get replacements
@daniellmiller3 жыл бұрын
I had the Rhodes suitcase many years ago and I’m pretty sure it’s all solid state.
@edh22463 жыл бұрын
With the suitcase style the instrument is sitting on top of the tube amplifier. The Rhodes instrument itself does not have tubes. It works similar to an electric guitar and is plugged into an amplifier. You can even use effects pedals like an electric guitar.
@daniellmiller3 жыл бұрын
@@edh2246 Thanks for the clarification Ed. I had mine for five years and it never required service. Considering how much abuse it got on the road I'm surprised it used tubes. I would have been a little gentler.

I love this song, and this instrument.... But this rendition is poorly done. Too straightforward, robotic and lacking of any kind of dynamic besides during the solo. Great performance regardless, the robotic-ness gives it that "elevator" kind of vibe, which I get, but this really needs more flare and personality.
