Fender Twin Reverb 65 - Amp Demo

Today we demo the legendary Fender Twin Reverb 65 reissue.
The amp is connected right into a Two Notes Torpedo live (www.two-notes.c...) loaded with a Twin Reverb Jensen C12K impulse from two notes from this pack: store.two-notes... .
We only used one pedal during the demo when you can see it on screen. We used a J Rockett Archer as a "almost clean" boost (rockettpedals.c.... This pedale is a Klon Centaur clone.
We used as least post fx after the sound recording as we could: no EQ, no compression.
The room reverb is from the Torpedo live.
The sound you hear on this video is the exact one we were hearing on our monitors while tracking it.

It needs to be said that this amp on Volume 4 is INSANELY loud. I play with my hard-rock drummer (who smashes his kit) on Level 2 and it's WAY over the drums. Food for thought.

​@@yasha4106 Volume wise a Orange 20r would be way better. Definition of "Fender Cleans" comes from these Blackface models. The Orange will sound good but it wont have the "Fender cleans". Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is 40 watts (way loud) but you can turn it down/sounds better than the Orange Crush 20r. You can get a Fender HRD (Hot rod deluxe) for $400 used if you keep your eyes peeled.

Not at all a bedroom amp but putting the volume at 1-2 it’s quiet enough to be, and it sounds great like I said. Besides being 100lbs and loud enough to shake a house, it’s the best amp in the world

Well, thats the famous and unique sound : Strat + twin reverb. Ive heard modellers mimic very well some serious heavy rock amps but they always fail doing the twin reverb or the vox ac30.

Since you guys read and comment on your viewers post....which is super cool......I have a honest question. I have read that the Twin Reverb doesn't take overdrive pedals very well. Im wanting to venture from clean tone country into some 50's, 60's type rock and roll tone. Think Chuck berry guitar sound for reference. Does the Twin have so much headroom that boosting it will a OD pedal will basically have no effect???? Most demos I see are on small amps such as the Deluxe Reverb thats only 22 watts and will easily overdrive on its own without the pedal. The Twin we got 85 watts of clean power to deal with. If you have any recommendations please feel free to offer up advice! Any Twin Reverb owners please chime in. Im either going to find a pedal that works well with the twin.....or buy a cheap Fender Champ with a gain channel and all those digital effects. I prefer not do that as I feel it just colors your tone artificially. With the Twin you get the raw sound of your guitar and some overdrive would sound fantastic!!! Just for reference I play a Gibson LP Goldtop with P90 pickups.

Hey! We have tried to boost the Twin with an archer OD pedal and it is true that it doesn't take it so well. The tone got colored not in a very good way.... Maybe you can try to use a very transparent boost pedal (not an od) such as the mxr micro amp....

How you play that Twin at volume 7 that close to you is beyond me. They will blow the windows out at 7!! How do I know....I own one. I have a Gibson Les Paul with P90s too and it stays clean at 7 so I dunno how you got it to crunch without at pedal at 7. Mine will " cleanly" blow the windows out at volume 7 lol.

Joe R. Yep, you can use digital cabinet simulations or impulse responses and play it through studio monitors at non insane volumes. I use a Torpedo Captor and the wall of sound plugin on my computer for silent playing through headphones with my tube amp

So if you play it at let's say 7 through the amp speakers it would be real loud but still real clean, but you use a computer emulated cab to simulate earlier breakup? What kind of simulated cab? Obviously something with super low wattage (like 20watt G12Ms) to encourage early breakup?

Should have the same sound as the amp does on 7 but at a overall level that you can control so its not too loud. It's all a little confusing at first so I'd recommend checking out a few videos on youtube on Torpedo Live or Torpedo Captors. Pretty new to guitars but wanted your thoughts on the high reverb effect specifically (3:25 , I love that sound). Compared to twin reverb amps (or deluxes) does the vibrato input on those amps make a major difference compared to Fender Champion 100? I want to buy an amp but the price range between the Twin Reverb ($1,000) and the Champion ($300-400) is a huge factor. I love that reverb sound so any suggestions would be helpful! It might be too late but get a deluxe its as loud or louder than the champion 100 (which is solid state i believe) but the twin for small gigs is too loud

Thumb up, comme d'hab! Je n'ai jamais vraiment accroché les amplis Fender, je n'ai essayé que des petits wattages donc difficile de savoir ce que vaut le Twin. Le son clair, logique, il est excellent. Le gain, j'aime moins, mais c'est un avis personnel. Excellente démo, j'ai beaucoup aimé la Gretsch encore une fois. Plus que les Fender, j'ai trouvé qu'elle apportait une chaleur particulière à un son clair un peu fin. La Bacchus avec les P90 drive bien l'ampli mais je ne sais pas pourquoi ce gain me dérange un peu. Pour mes oreilles c'est comme si l'ampli forçait et le crunch devient un peu agressif. Avec tous les fender que j'ai essayé j'ai mis une pédale d'overdrive dessus, une Zendrive ou Ac booster selon les micros de mes guitares. (sans avoir essayé en vrai cet ampli) je ferais peut-être pareil avec celui-là. Mais comme vous, la reverb est superbe. Le tremolo c'est toujours sympa. Un peu comme Tremonti le fait (et d'autres) un fender pour le clean, et les distos pour les autres! En tout cas super vidéo comme d'habitude, tout y est et c'est déjà beaucoup! Bravo! petit plus: je viens d'acheter la Hotone Xtomp et je suis bluffé par ce que j'ai pu en tirer (à faible volume à la maison, je précise). Si vous avez l'occasion regardez, testez, c'est bluffant et très pratique sur un pédal board (ou en voyage). Petite question: C'est quel modèle de Gretsch? Il va falloir que j'essaye!!!

La Gretsch est une Brian Setzer hot rod G6120, la guitare favorite de Rudy :) L'ampli est pas fait du tout pour le crunch, on a fait ça pour l’expérience car on sait que personne n'utilisera cet ampli pour ça et il faut le mettre hyper fort pour atteindre ce crunch (c'est infaisable en conditions normales). 2 amplis en live, ça doit être le rêve en effet, surtout quand on a des roadies Ahahah Merci pour le conseil, je jetterai un coup d'oreille à la Hotone Xtomp.

How can you know when a guitar amp really has a clean and warm sound when all the music that you play is all distorted and is really hard to tell how the amp sounds.
