Man, Lemmo’s playing is out of this world. Taking each diff model, paired with the genius of Tim Shaw cunife pickups, you just kinda melt away with each strum and note plucked. I love every pickup you’ve done, but these are in another stratosphere. Imagine if Jimi was still alive with these pups?!?! You guys have KNOCKED these out of the park.

Okay, I don't comment on KZbin (or anywhere... ever), but I'm commenting. The musicality of this collection is nuts. Tim Shaw is the mutha-f'n pickup fairy. I mean... d00d! The Jazzmaster tones alone (both sets) in this video are bananas! I need them all. Amazing.....

I’m really glad they started making the wide range pickups with the magnetic screws again. I hated that period where companies were offering all these pickups that “looked like” old originals, but were just normal modern designs underneath - normal humbuckers in Wide Range covers, normal single coils in gold foil covers… that whole era of fake vintage stuff really bugged me.

At first, I wasn't sure how much of a difference these would make but I'm very impressed by the changes I hear. They're definitely noticeable and they sound great. Very informative as to why Seth Lover invented these in the first place and why they subsequently disappeared from Fender's lineup. I find the new single coil cunife/cobalt chrome strat pickups fascinating. My suggestion for an acronym for cobalt chrome would be CrFeCo (pronounced Cro _Fee_ Co).
@Aaron_Revis Жыл бұрын
They didn't disappear from Fender's line-up as far as I understand, considering they're in some of Fender's Custom Shop pickups and have been for decades.
@rexrathtar3893 Жыл бұрын
Take it up with Fender. They themselves say authentic CuNiFe Wide Range pickups disappeared from their lineup in 1979.
@charlesbolton8471 Жыл бұрын
@@Aaron_Revis He’s right Fender just reintroduced the authentic Wide Range Humbuckers a couple of years ago. That being said, they have had guitars at every price range with pickups they called Wide Range Humbuckers since the 90s, but they weren’t the real thing.

Two things that I wish Fender would make someday: CuNife Jaguar pickups and single coil-sized Humbuckers. I love buying single coil sized humbuckers from Seymour Duncan, but I'd love to buy some straight from Fender. I'd especially love it if they designed a single coil-sized humbucker specifically for Jaguars. That would be a dream come true. Seymour Duncan doesn't even make single coil-sized humbuckers for Jaguars. You can use the Strat versions, but I just feel like Jaguars don't get enough love. They're perfect guitars for modding.
@hollymartins6913 Жыл бұрын
I imagine it's the short scale that puts a lot of people off. It's a beautiful instrument, it has that classic-yet-forward-looking early '60's Fender look, and they're well built. I sat down with an equal value Jazzmaster and Jaguar in a music store, and spent a little time with both and the Jazzmaster with the regular Fender 25 & 1/2 scale just felt more comfortable, and I prefer the Jazzmaster pickup's tone also, but tone is subjective. The Jaguar just felt to cramped for my big hands. But a beautiful guitar, nonetheless.
@Casey3-P-O Жыл бұрын
@@hollymartins6913 yea I get that. I find my strat to be extremely comfortable. It's my favorite guitar, but I also love my Jaguar. I'm also only 5'7'' so maybe that's why I like them.
