Decon 30/Impact Cleaner is a good thyme-based anti-mold cleaner that's safe on fabrics. It's more mild than Vinegar or Bleach and works as well or better. You can also don a respirator and steam and ozone the shit out of it too.

Definitely make sure you kill and remove any mold you find, though. Shit's dangerous, chronic mold exposure legit caused neurological problems for me that lasted years.

Is that Leather Honey stuff specifically suited for automotive use too? If not try Colour lock. And to get the creases out of the leather/reshape the foam indents on the seats a heat gun can help, obviously be very cautious and don’t use too much heat/stay to long in one spot. Home Built by Jeff on KZbin did this with his newly upholstered leather seats in his Alfarrari (couple episodes back) might work also on the creases on the 996 seats.

Of all the leather conditioners I've used, I'd say that Leatherique's conditioner and cleaner are the best for restoring your leather's original finish and suppleness bar none. My 99 M3 had some pretty sad leather that was getting hard and cracked, and almost every rejuvenator I tried didn't make much of a difference. But I followed Leatherique's instructions with their rejuvenator and after a day or two of letting it sit and reapplying the oil as my leather absorbed it, I was astounded with just how nice it turned out. The matte finish was back, and it even flattened out some of the cracks! I'd get comments from people wondering if I had reupholstered my seats after the treatment haha, and after a couple of years of applying the oil once or twice a year, it has remained in flawless condition.

Yeah highly recommend Steamer and drill brush with water and carpet soap + an extractor. World of difference and super satisfying in all cars. Also will help get rid of any smells. Highly impressive transformation still however

Not sure if it will fit, but Rigid makes a vacuum hose kit. It is superior to what comes with the small shop vacs. I have a Mcculloch steamer, works great for detailing.

Windex with ammonia d is great at cleaning super dirty and moldy interior bits before going over everything with a proper interior detailer. Hey, it’s glass cleaner!!!

That key situation is either the battery or the ignition switch. There is a way to take it out though. I think you have to remove the ring around the key and then use a paperclip in a hole to release. Should say in the owners manual exactly how to do it.

Makes sense then, the battery isn't connected and I have to assume it's dead.

@@matt13rossif the car battery is dead it won’t release the key. Replace the battery before you try any other tactic.

If after changing the battery it is still stuck, this can work: 1. Open the fuse box and unclip a metal hook on the inside of the cover. 2. Use the hook to remove a plastic lid on the ignition lock to the right of the key. 3. Turn the ignition key counter-clockwise as far as it will go. 4. Press the metal hook into the opening and turn the key to its intial position and remove it.

What a transformation on the interior of your 997 turbo.....theres no substitute for a lot of good old 'elbow grease to get the results you are looking for. The terra cotta & black colour scheme is exactly the same as the Carrera 4S S1 I had a while back, & I believed the seats are the same terra cotta colour. As far as cleaning is concerned, I don't think you can beat cleaning the carpets, etc using a steam cleaner, & have used Auto Glym products with good results on leather/plastic & rubber trims. Good luck!🔥

A can of TUFF STUFF in the yellow aerosol foam and a decent $100 harbor freight steamer and you'll be able to clean sin out the devil's ass. Congrats on the new car man look forward to the progress ✌🏽

Dude. The terracotta interior. Both a blessing and curse. It's probably the best colour, but if you need to replace a part. Super hard to find. Here's hoping everything this there in good nick. - also. You probably know. You can jump the car from the fusebox with a jump pack. Should be enough power to operate the hood & remove key.
