I think the turbo badge really completes the rear. I don't mind a clean look at the back but the writing of the word just adds that touch of class that porsche carries while also being more go than worrying about show. People always like to give shade at us porsche owners thinking that we think we are top notch blah blah. Yes some purists are annoying haha, but you can't beat those of us who take the most hated 911s and turn them into gems that draw eyes from everyone!

I’ve watched your journey with this car avidly and with interest Matt. You’ve sweated blood over this car, and you’ve done so well. It now looks (and seems to perform) great. As a fan of the Turbo 911 cars since childhood and now the proud owner of a 991.2 Turbo, I hope you enjoy it. The Turbos are much underrated these days and everyone seems to want a GT3. But the Turbos are devastatingly quick all round machines. I’m doing a 1000 mile round trip to Germany from UK in mine right now. It’s awesome.

Man the e-brake cover looked just fine to me. I might comment or give my opinion on various things and it’s just that an opinion. If I have experience with something that you’re doing I’ll post my advice but that’s up to you to choose whether you want to follow that advice. Ultimately this your build and you need to be happy with it. So don’t allow people to under your skin just step back look at it and ask yourself if you’re happy with what you see. I’ve said you should just replace your headlights seeing how I figured it would be cheaper and better overall and you responded basically letting me know just how expensive they are which I didn’t know and that made total sense to me after that. You’ve been learning while doing and that is more than half the battle. I’ve rebuilt/restored more cars and trucks than I care to remember but I was lucky and had people teaching from a very young age. You just keep doing what your doing. I’m just waiting for you to through more carbon fiber panels on the inside. 😀

Don't get me wrong, I'm not building this car solely on the opinions of others. But really, you guys make good comments and suggestions here. If I agree with them, I usually take the good advice.
@P-J-W-777 Жыл бұрын
@@matt13ross That’s great! It really pisses me off when people post negative comments or knock on someone’s build when the biggest majority of the, have no experience and have never built or restored a car in their life. It’s easy to change your wheels and automatically you become an expert at custom builds. I’ve seen it way to often. When I give advice it’s based on experience and mistakes that I’ve both made and seen over the many years. Just keep up the good work and don’t let others get you down…

Lol... I had the exact same Kenwood in my Poorsche. I also mounted it in the exact same place with the difference being that I used a piece of 1/4 plastic sheet I had laying around to mount to the car, then I mounted the amp to that. There's a cover that Porsche sells that would cover the hole that your pervious amp was in if you want to clean up the area even more. It's pretty cheap, so it might be worth considering. Unfortunately my Kenwood didn't play well with my Bose system and I couldn't get rid of an electronic whine that got worse with the rpms of the car, so I ended up putting the factory amp back in. That's how things sometimes go with my projects. One step forward... three steps back.
@matt13ross Жыл бұрын
So I've read that is from improper grounding. Maybe that was your issues?
@charha01 Жыл бұрын
@@matt13ross Yeah... I tried grounding it to many different places, putting in noise isolators, wrapping the speaker wires with copper shielding.... I through the kitchen sink at it. I thought I could live with it, but it eventually drove me nuts and I put the factory amp back in and installed the PCCM+ head unit since it's "factory" and I liked the look of it. I would probably not do it over again as I don't really like the usability of it as my wife's Pioneer head unit is way easier to use and it still has a CD player (I know... I'm old) and so I can play some of my CDs in that car.

Since you are color deficient you should have gotten your girl to sit in the car and you take a drill battery and touch the speaker wire to the terminals on the speakers and let her tell you which one is popping. Then, take it and label the wires. Then make sure the RCA cables are disconnected on both sides, then place a jumper on them on one side, and take your meter to test to see which of the RCA cables has your short. Then, label them at the amp and then again at the back of the radio. You're obviously done with the job now but this is a way to get your speaker wires and RCA cable isolated if you have to do that job again on this or any other amp install. That Pioneer amp should have had a thermal protect mode for it to go in if the amp did begin to overheat. You should definitely send it back in for either a warranty replacement or a refund.
@matt13ross Жыл бұрын
Def want to send it back, though I have a feeling they won't take it.
@chesspiece81 Жыл бұрын
@Matt13Ross I don't know why they wouldn't. I mean WTF you had it fused, but the smoke leaked out. From what you've shown, it doesn't look like you did anything wrong. I had a Massive Audio 5 channel in my TBSS that was mounted in the rear cubby area in the back. Well, we went on vacation, and the luggage was over the cubby, and the amp would get really hot, and the stereo would click off. For about 10 minutes or so and then it would click and come right back on. Before you send it back, you should check and see if the amp does indeed have a thermal protection that typically will cut off the amp until it cools back off. If they say it does, then you should be 100% fine.

I love that car specially that color needs a roll cage in matching color 😍

That would look great, but no roll cage in this car! This is a comfy street car. The E36 has the cage and bucket seats.

What's in the Topdon case in the trunk?
@matt13ross Жыл бұрын
It’s a jump pack.

The tailpipe on the drivers side is pointing upwards at least that is what it looks like to me anyway

You might want to review your suggestion that the first ever vehicle was made in 1901. Amongst others, Peugeot then Mercedes Benz would like a word...

Would be great to see aftermarket seats in your car. Thats what i would replace in a first place
@matt13ross Жыл бұрын
I actually love these seats. REALLY comfortable! My E36 has buckets, the Porsche is more of a DD.

@@matt13ross I know they are comfortable, I have same car but 2002 with stock seats. Its just covers that you put it in doesn't looks same good as rest of the car. My 2 cents. By the way, would be cool to make a video and compare our cars. I have few custom things on it

The seats are getting better as time goes on. I still have to take some heat to them too

Man, the people at Penn dot drink a special kind of stupid juice. I had all kinds of issues getting my Z title and registration. Took 2 years for it to finally get sorted. The funniest part was that they sent me an expired registration. My expiration date was literally before the issue date…..
