I couldn't believe it. Two games they build it up, not seeing the BETA. Then you see them and Takeru freaks out, pisses himself and goes all catatonic. So much buildup to so much disappointment. And then this kicks in, and you realize why Takeru is the hero of the story. Wow. Just Wow.

Well, the reason Takeru freaked out so much wasn't because he was a wimp. It was because he suffered from a very unique trauma: he remembered being torn apart and eaten by the BETA, when he was in captivity. The Shirogane Takeru of that world became a part of our hero Takeru, so he remembered all the suffering and trauma that the Alternative Takeru went through. That's why he had such a violent response to the BETA. His trauma was something no other person in existence could ever experience or understand, excepting perhaps Sumika. Given what she went through and all.

I always thought him killing 20 of those huge bastards was epic, especially given how devastating they are against everyone not named Shirogane Takeru. This song also plays during the (latter, iirc) part of the XM3 trials when him and his "squad" were kicking ass. Not sure where else it plays, though...
