Plus the new gen stl lights are way brighter! They would be equal if it was filmed today i believe. Have my set up is the new stl stuff and the other half is Whelen and i cant tell the difference in brightness.

@@thunderbear0 yeah im not sure why people hate on them, maybe because they are low cost people assume they are cheap? Maybe its a reputation from the beginning that got fixed a while back? Like the 1st glocks had horrible, spongy triggers, but that was fixed in the gen 2 models and all subsequent models after that. But people will still say oh i dont like glock triggers.. and im like ok lets get you to this decade and then we will see what you think. Lol I have a linear k-force 27 in that i really like, and its as bright as my whelen avengers in the back are.

Thanks for the vid it definitely shows the difference in brightness and i haven't seen many comparing both side to side. Another thing to remember is Feniex uses 4w CREE LED chips and STL uses 3w from what i remember. They both look great but clearly the Feniex takes the W imo.

Feniex is also made in the USA by us citizens. Stl is made in a sweat shop over in China. Getting rich off naive people that believe their warehouse in Buda, TX is a manufacturing facility when in fact it is the facility that distributes garbage.

@@baddriversofthenorcalarea500 STL is absolutely not made in Texas. Do your homework. Everything STL is made overseas. Their facility in Buda, TX is a distribution center. They may assemble custom order LB's in Buda, TX. STL is 100% manufactured overseas. I have been approached by the mfg in China that builds their products.

@@412psekustomzllc7 They might also do what Tacony does, final assembly and packaging in the U.S with parts from China and who knows where else, it's a loophole that allows them to legally market their lights as made in the U.S, they're built for a price point, the volunteer firefighter or plow operator who's got a low budget, wants the latest LED technology, and wants new lights instead of working pull lighting, I sold a fellow firefighter my first POV light, as he was making calls left and right and complained about traffic, it's an older HQRP 8LED light that I modified with a longer, better cord, not a bad little unit, held up well and has an all aluminum casing, so no fire hazard with the upgraded, fused cord, not very bright but for using old TIR technology it moves traffic good enough, I just upgraded, so I sold my old light to a fellow FF for less than what I had into it, tried to give it to him but he demanded I give him a price, so I did, and he had no complaints and likes how compact and easy to mount it is

To be fair speed tech has a dim feature but it's right before the go up in smoke! Class 1 lights still need to meet class 1 standards on low power ,stl barely meets those standards so dim is not an option .

Good morning Miss White Rose I was just wondering how the longevity of the speed Tech light bar was? I just ordered a 75 inch bar before I seen this video LOL or I would have ordered Phoenix. But either way I haven't really got to talk to many people about the speed Tech quality. So far I am impressed with their customer service and the ordering process. I promise I'm not a speed Tech rep. LOL even though it sounds like it.

Strobes n more sells Feniex lightbars for around $900. STL bars are around $500 I believe.

More then 2x. You can get a 55' STL dual color linear light bar for around $1000 with controller and 22 ft of cord. . A 47' dual color Fenix is like $2000 no controller no cords and it's like a other $5-700 for the controller

Tex Clark feniex is also way more expensive then stl. Not saying either is a bad brand it’s just comparing apples to oranges. I think feniex is in the same boat as whelen and those top tier brands. Stl is a budget friendly setup for people that don’t want to spend 3 grand to put lights on there car or truck

@@mikep3008 Overall Whelen takes the W against Feniex from my experience with Star Signal coming in 3rd mainly for quality, Star Signal is a good budget brand that makes cheap but reliable lighting, I ran an old Mini Phantom DL212-BB with gen1 LEDs in my truck for the longest time, still works, just upgraded to a FS Viper S2 knockoff because I got a good deal on it and it's a good bit brighter with better off axis lighting, I run a Star Signal Starburst DL15-12-BB for rear lighting with the front being illuminated by a matching and synced pair of Whelen knockoffs I got for $140 N.O.S shipped after tax, the Starburst is an impressive little light I got for $85 after shipping and taxes. I've got buddies who run SpeedTech Lights, and they say the LEDs get dim or go out after about 5 years of semi regular use, if they end up behind me when responding they kill their front lights and I kill my rears and we convoy our way to the station, first time it happened they were genuinely impressed by how well the Whelen knockoffs move traffic even with their way outdated LED technology

Just a back story In the 8months that this comment has been out there I bought a visor light from stl and it went out a month after and played hell getting them to send me a new one. They said they “fixed it” and sent it back and the same thing it went out a month later! I couldn’t believe it. So they finally sent me a new one (not really sure if it was new or not) but I ended up selling it. The worst part of it is I’m on a small volunteer Dept and we get like 6 calls a month. So long story kinda short lol I won’t be dealing with stl ever again.

Agreed, but man you should see the people that love and promote their garbage. It is a shame. When a customer finally realizes that STL is crap(which sometimes ends in a truck fire) and comes in for professional grade equipment we offer free removal of the import garbage.

​@@412psekustomzllc7 Pretty serious statement about truck fires... Sounds like bad installation or is it really bad product? I have Feniex 4200DL, BT module, and Storm Pro 200W. I also have STL Visor Raptors (front) and Striker8 traffic advisor (rear). Everything works great, but the Feniex is definitely better built product hands down. I am looking at purchasing rocker lighting and thinking if I should spend the extra $ and go with the Fusions instead of the STL Ceptors... Any advice?

@@syed0000 So let's start from the beginning. I am a professional EV builder as well as a life long volunteer firefighter. I have had customers bring to us STL products that caught fire and destroyed their trucks. Had absolutely nothing to do with installation. As far as the rockers, in my opinion the Fusion line by Feniex is the brightest. I say not because I'm a Feniex Dealer, because it's just my opinion. I'm a Whelen dealer as well and they claim their tracer's are the only class 1 certified rocker light in the industry and that just isn't true. I have no experience with STL's equipment at all if I can help it so cannot comment on their ceptor. In my opinion everything they make is junk. I run the Fusion Rockers and absolutely love them.

@@412psekustomzllc7 What's your opinion, if any, on Star Signal? I've got Star Signal LED equipment that was bade back in the day of gen1 LEDs, the ones with individual diodes and no reflector assemblies, still works, just got a few dead diodes, though they can be replaced with a bit of soldering, only reason I'm holding on to it is because it's a very well made light, very overbuilt, very heavy, and very resistant to extreme hot and cold temps, only lights that are heavier that I own are some Whelen Avenger clones, though that's because there's a massive copper core aluminum fin heatsink in each, fire risk for those is minimal, as all the circuitry is surrounded by thick slabs of metal and there's a thermal fuse on the board that's rated to melt under high temps as well as a quick blow fuse for overcurrent protection, Xprite lights have no such protections, so when I run wiring for friends who purchase them I tie power to ignition, so they've only got power when the car is running as well as use a 5A quick blow inline fuse for extra protection

@@412psekustomzllc7 I just saw your comment and thought I would chime in... As an actual STL customer, I have had a relatively good experience with them, I have had a full STL package on my pov for about 2 years, and had a Prime 49" light bar on my previous vehicle. I do agree that they have quality issues, I had to replace 1 control box, 1 siren, 1 light head, and have 1 that 1/2 works. I have also used the Feniex T3 and was very impressed with the output, so going forward I will be moving from STL to Feniex.
