VERY NICE to see night mode. LEDs are actually becoming a road hazard now, with so many cars and emergency vehicles using them, they are starting to blind drivers so being able to turn those down in brightness without losing clarity is great!

That is freaking bad ass!! Great idea with the modules and how the connect together. Hope to see this on future firetrucks in Texas.

The only question a warning light system has to address is observer perceptual utility. The observer has three perceptual interests: the disposition of the emergency vehicle ("EV"), its spatial definition (where is it laterally and axially) and its motion relative to the observer. Lateral information is simple. It's offset left or right of the observer is obvious. Nothing else is. To simplify the workload of oncoming drivers, they need to be able to quickly and unambiguously assess the distance and any movement of the EV. Some modes of this equipment facilitate that, others impeded it. The best mode for unambiguous information to the observer is when the signal is bi-laterally symmetrical in flash pattern, phase and colour. This can either be simultaneous flashes, or direction indicating sequences. Unless left or right direction indication is sought, best is from centre to edge sequences that 'direct' the observer away from the EV. 'Crazy' patterns are only for advertising the dime store or cheap eats in the mall; they are either dangerous or useless on the road because the destroy distance and relative motion information and can easily either confuse or mislead approaching motorists. See here for an example (the ambulance in the first few seconds): kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6CWhnijq7-WpMk and: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWnYlWOQrNucaJI for a fully coordinated system.

This is some of the coolest stuff in the game right now! Loving the custom DIY flash pattern idea. Wild! Question: The center white strip has RGBWA, the clear lenses above and below it: do they have LEDs in them or are they just reflectors for the center strip?

You need to have a system that warns cars over the air to turn on hazards a quarter mile before the last car in traffic slow down rate of flash should increase as vehicles approaches road hazard and should signal what lane is open before the vehicle gets to the hazard. And can keep traffic flowing.

This is a pretty cool catch. It appears to have some interesting features. But so does everyone else. and I have many questions.. Access in Canada? What is it tested to for freezing? How low can it go? And with that, how well can it take extreme temperature changes? From room temperature in the garage to literally -50C winds and ambient temps? What is it tested to for water ingress? Are there different user control heads/panels/controllers? What ODBII integration does it have? Will it play nice with other brands of products?.. Where other products like hideaways and other perimeter or body lights or scene lights are used. Will it play nice with other brand control units? Warranty and replacement? If one or two diodes die, does an entire module have to be replaced? and is that a warranty? Who's diodes and chipsets? The lenses are UV treated? Are they self healing film protected? If a module happens to chip, will water enter the diode housing or is there a film liner? The footprint of output is nice, but as a brand trying to prove itself, If you can hold your own at a Convention/show. I'd like to see some non biased comparison videos against the major market players with products of the same footprint. Output, clarity, color, intensity, range of reach, range of reach in a diversity of weather, and torture test videos. I've seen some Liberty bars literally rolled over onto where 1/3 is all that's left as its crushed under the car and its still flashing. That's an extreme example. but impressive still. Are the DVI " like" patterns available in all colors or outputs? I like the output in a video, indoors, at 15 feet. But how does it truly perform at 1000 yards compared to others? Did it see any aero testing? On an apparatus, not huge, but on a Rapid Response or half-ton style truck, what kind of wind noise does it have. Some of these questions may seem out there, but have all come up before over different vehicles and needs.

What is the led wattage per diode 1w 3w 5w?
@HiVizLEDS Жыл бұрын
Hey, there's several different LED sizes in this fixture. Is there a wattage requirement you're looking to meet?
@prosperity4444 Жыл бұрын
@@HiVizLEDS I'm wondering what the output wattage is such as the red heads are they 3w or 5w then the secondary rgbw leds are they 1w or 3w I'm looking for a brightness output of at least 5 watts I work in extremely bright desert sunlight that anything less is almost useless at a distance with sun washout. I'm trying to get effective right warning at a mile out on flat road.
@HiVizLEDS Жыл бұрын
@@prosperity4444 Great question, and a somewhat complex answer! IF you imagine a 1" wide space, you could pack 5x 1w LEDs in or 1x 5w LED in and have the same number of watts. If you use 5x 1w LEDs (or 5w LEDs driven to 1w) you likely would get a luminous efficacy boost due to under-driving the LEDs and spreading the thermal load out across the available space on the housing. Each module draws an approximate average of 30 watts. A 3 sided 72" lightbar (most popular size for a full sized fire apparatus) draws around 220 watts (average) or 320 watts max. Even in broad daylight, a 320 watt LED Lightbar is face-melting brightness- it's the brightest in its class by a significant margin. Pretty cool to see in person, come check it out if you're interested!

@@HiVizLEDS you should do more videos perhaps outside in direct sunlight against other manufacturers id like to see if there is washout or any other disadvantages.
