Really glad to see a company sending you things, for torches, cameras and other tech I wish so many other companies would send you stuff as watching reviews as good as yours is in most cases the deciding factor on whether we buy their products, Excellent review as always, Take care and stay safe,

I have more lights to do, photo stuff gone quiet at the moment but working on getting new things to look at. It just goes quiet sometimes, just in general not just lights. I had hoped to get more items in just in general - ie other items gadgets, so I did a few family items members picked up, not much happening on that side via makers. But it's better than it was couple of months back. Might pick up coming into Christmas time, I do like to mix it up - thanks for sticking around!

Another great review. I chose the E18R, which is broadly similar except for being rechargeable including the battery power indicator. I must say that the current aesthetic of Fenix lights is very attractive, with the copper coloured highlights on the bezel and switch. It's just a very simple but great-looking design.
@MrBazReviews4 жыл бұрын
They look nice I saw the E18R, but cool white only guess you can't have both! Be nice to have a choice of both for each light. I like the battery indicator gives you a good idea on what's let, still the super small size is nice to have
@jeffgaboury31574 жыл бұрын
@@MrBazReviews Yes, it seems like many companies don't give you the choice. The light either comes in CW, NW or warm. I think Thrunite (and their WowTac subsidiary), Acebeam and Lumintop are the only ones that seem to regularly give you emitter choices within a given model.

Specs on the pack appear a little misleading (unless you read the small print). 700 lumens for just over an hour? Graph shows output plummets to around 280 after a few mins. Good review of the Fenix.
@MrBazReviews4 жыл бұрын
Lot of makers do that ie max theoretical run time at power level, but I suppose at least they do include the graph to indicate the drop. Might be better to give time/drop on there too. Hence I do a drop down test, temps vary but it gives an idea.

how come the Fenix E16 lasts twice as much time on turbo than OTR M3 with the same battery? Could the LED be so much more efficient?
@MrBazReviews4 жыл бұрын
It might be it's a newer model v the OTR, I have both I've not done a full test at turbo, they might also drop down levels differently

Both the voiceover and graphics say that you hold the button for 1.5 seconds to turn the light On or Off but that is also how you access Strobe. According to the manual you only hold for 0.5 seconds to turn the light On or Off.

Well there you go I made a mistake I was thinking of dropping the UI part because it's pointless as the user guide shows it, and of course people can spot the rare time you make a mistake. I wonder why I keep showing it, just adds more time to the creation of videos. I probably should just do what others do and "roll 'em" on the camera no text and no testing talking head style, use a phone for 5fps night shots etc. But they're pretty useless

@@-djs I know he's right but I missed it, I was thinking of dropping the UI part and just commenting on the UI, everything adds time to the videos, they are taking way too long to shoot/edit

@@MrBazReviews No way, mate - Trim it down, streamline it or something, if you have to, but don't get rid of it. The UI is one of the biggest elements of a torch - I have very nearly blown quite a bit of cash on several torches, until someone (usually you) demonstrated the UI and I realised it would piss me off to try and use (never mind memorise) all the double-half-press-hold-twist-click methods just to switch the darn things on! I think the last one you saved me from was the Nitecore E4K... Seriously, this part of a torch is make or break in many cases, like "how it drives" is for a car - If reading the manual was all it took, Top Gear would never have been so popular. OK, weird example, but hopefully you get the idea!

@MrBazReviews4 жыл бұрын
They do one with a charging (magnetic) but it's larger and cool white. I suppose you can't have ultra compact, with a charging port as it takes up more space. You can get micro USB 16340 cells if you don't have a charger. I think this one is a keeper overall. There might be a new model coming out

@@MrBazReviews yeah, it should've had a 1-5 lumens mode and it'll be perfect. Too bad, but it's not a problem for me. I always carry 2 flashlights at all times.
