I'm a huge fan of all the videos you have and all the testing you do on the lights. I have a light on every single pistol every single day.

Thanks so much for keeping up with us, and for your support. I applaud those who, like yourself, go beyond to prepare for low light encounters. Blessings!

As usual, great unbiased review. I own the GL19R & GL22 (after watching your review of the GL19R) and I am very impressed with their performance (brightness/ease of use/durability) and compared to other lights I have (Streamlight/LAPG/TrustFire) they outshine them, but as you said the only drawback is lack of holsters. I do hope you decide to make holsters for them as they are great lights.

Fenix is coming out with some pretty good stuff. But as you said, holster support is the downfall. Good video!

Thanks! Yes, it's nice to see a manufacturer up the game for light quality.

Yes I have it. Yes, I will be reviewing it on my other channel. And yes, your assessment is spot on. I have no idea why they changed it to the side activation switches when they hit a home run with the switches on the gl19r.

I love the handheld torture tests. I would love to see you all test the Weltool T8 plus tac. 2100 lumen 100k candela, and modular with 18650 and 18350 batteries is pretty awesome. For a light that’s 125 bucks, it brings a lot for the price. Curious to see how durable they are as well.

I have one on my Glock19 and love it. But like you said there is no holsters for it. Holsters for the tlr7 do work for it, but not crisp. I've been looking for a drop leg for it. There's a local custom holster place that can make one for 50$ in about an hour I was told

I'd love to check out a Fenix pistol light, but there simply isn't much holster support for it...which reminds me: the one thing this video is missing is a test on whether or not it will fit into Streamlight TLR7 Sub hoslters (probably won't, but it'd be nice to see someone demonstrate it).

As a holster company, if you like the light, why can't you start making the holsters for it?

Since you asked, you’re wrong on your assessment of side button switches. Yes side pressure can disrupt a sight picture but properly applied bilateral grip pressure with the shooting hand balancing the support / light activation hand solves that issue. It’s a training and / or familiarity issue just like accidentally engaging or disengaging a vertical or toggle switch under recoil is a training and / or familiarity issue. I think a preference for either style is fine. Sure more people prefer Surefire or Streamlight style switches but if as they say “7 out of 10 doctors prefer X”, I’d ask why. In the past “X” was all that was available, so a preference isn’t surprising. But that isn’t quite the same as an informed professional consensus that “X” is better. I’d appreciate seeing your reviews evaluate side switch lights a bit more neutrally. Express a preference sure, but don’t dismiss, and don’t treat them as all the same. Are the buttons too small? Too hard / too easy to press. Easy to index…

the GL19R is an amazing light that I prefer over the other options. I imagine the light would be vastly more popular with mainstream holster support. If only you guys knew of a company capable of making.... holsters!?

Definitely wrong about the side switches they are so much better than trying to push forward. And why don’t you stop talking about how there are no holster options and start making holster options for it make some money people need holsters for their p365xl with the GL06

I don't know why strobe is still a thing on "quality" light brands (either EDC or tactical lights) EDC flashlight guys (usually) don't like strobe except for just fun use or goofing off. Tactical guys dont like strobe because if i turn a light on i want it ON, not strobing. The potential use cases for strobe are so marginal that i dont know why some companies still hold onto it. Fenix has the ability to make excellent lights as far as lumen/candela/runtime (not as super durable as a surefire or modlite, but theyre not exactly fragile either) but their inclusion of strobe (and some weird insistence on weird switching quirks) makes their lights a back-uo light at best. If Fenix would offer an 18650 light with roughly 1000lm&50k candela on high with a low mode of 300lm&15k candela for about $150 they'd have a huge seller on their hands. Start at high mode first for true "tactical use" and have a quick tap option to drop the output, OR use twin tailcaps one for each mode and make tgem easily distinguishable using only tactile means (have one switch stand taller than the other or have texture on one switch or something)

Can’t wait for someone to make a light that fits p365 / g43x size guns but has real performance. 1000 ++lumens and 10k + candela.

The high CRI is really nice, but Fenix needs to realize this isnt an "enthusiast" light, strobe doesnt belong here. I think Fenix is a pretty good light company, but they seriously lack in two areas with their "tactical" lights: their insistence on multiple modes (power levels) even on lights that don't need it, and their focus on lumens over candela. They have so many lights that hover between 1500-3000 lumens but almost none break 40,000 candela. If you gave me a light that had 1500 lumens with 60,000 candela that cost $150 vs a modlite for twice that then that would be a serious contender. The only light i have from them is the PD32 V2 specifically because it's one of the highest candela lights they have and although it has multiple power levels they're easy to never have to deal with. I can momentary or constant-on at full power instantly, and only after I've gone constant-on do i have the option to cycle power levels by half pressing the power button. Ive seen a lot of flashlight guys complain about the PD32 V2 saying they wish it had this mode or that mode or multiple switches, but it lacking those things is precisely why it's a decent light for "tactical" use for those on a budget. For reference it's a $65 light that puts out 1200lm and 39,000cd on max power, its not a surefire turbo or an OKW, but it's ⅕ the price too (and it's tough, i have not babied mine and its just fine)
