This is the perfect headlamp. I’ve grown tired of complicated operations on flashlights, and I never use strobe modes etc. I bought this for attic inspections and the flood is perfect for iPhone photos in an attic. Now I can use all the 18650 batteries from my disposable Chinese/Amazon (Chamazon) headlamps to power a quality device.

I have one, it's my best too. What he didn't say is it's got a 6ft drop rating which is twice normal. The other guys will cover it when you walk around on your kneepads, yeah. It's a corner cutting industry, and so companies fail left and right. This one's the best you can get. Right about a hundred bucks. Figure 20 bucks a year over 5 years. Mine won't fail in 20 years, I just feel it. It's a permanent light. Slam dunk solid purchase.

I do like Fenix stuff, but would be a little concerned about the adjustment mechanism. Seems overly complex and prone to getting crap jammed in the mechanism. What I'd really like to see is a way to angle the spot and flood LEDs separately! Low flood to light the area under my feet while having the spot more horizontal for route finding.

@Walt_Kowalsky3 жыл бұрын
Yup. It looks cheap and soon or later will break down. How often do you adjust it? Once set is enough for its lifetime. Even when needed to be worn on helmet or thick winter hat it takes 3 seconds to adjust it if the band won't expand itself enough. IMHO stupid system.

I just wish that Fenix would built a light based on this model for just military use. With a red green blue and white combination. And maybe an ir as well. That would be a best selling item.
@BruteWillis3 жыл бұрын
Neutral white light is way better for your eyes than "cool or cold" white which is bad for your eyes if you use a headlamp for a longer period of time (multiple hours). Luckily Fenix changed this on the HM65R-T as the HM65R only had cool white LED's, but they only changed the flood light to neutral white which is kind of a bummer to me. The spot light is still cool white. While Fenix target runners and Trail runners with this expensive headlamp they should have realize that cool white is actually bad for your eyes. And yes a missing red LED is unfortunate too.

Fenix seems to publishing false runtime numbers on the hp30r v2 and the hp25r v2. I would physically test the runtime. Their runtime numbers are mathematically impossible, as well. I am not sure if this is a 2022 thing or not. Your light is a good pocket or belt light. But I never have seen a single 18650 light that was bright enough and could get me through a whole workday. In theory, an xpl-hi and at a 26mm optic would work, however they use 20mm most of the time, or are driven over or too far under the 350 milliamps necessary to get a 10 hour runtime. If I carried spares in my pockets they would fall through holes, catch on fire, or usually be dead when I decided that I needed it. Not to mention help pull down my pants or tool belt that is already replete with lots of other tools. The magnesium body intrigues me. I wonder how much of a difference it is than aluminum? The TK line of Fenix lights were made of too heavy aluminum. The TK stood for Tank, apparently.
