Check this, almost every club he went to. He didn't need "time to settle in" and mind you he moved from Cruzeiro>PSV Eindhoven>Barcelona>Internazionale in a span of 4/5 years and with all those clubs, he HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. He did all of this from teenager to adulthood. There was no social media back then so for a player to generate that kind of buzz that he did wasn't easy especially playing in that era of football I mean the man was sought after at the age of 21 but he played like he was 10 years his senior. From a Real Madrid fan, with my heart in my hand, Messi is what it is because he is one of the greatest, for sure, but also because of the decisive factor of playing in one of the best teams (if not the best) of all time, that unstoppable Barcelona from Guardiola. Messi without Barcelona has been suffering during years with Argentina national team while his Barcelona team mates where winning European and World Cups... I have seen many players but NONEONE close to Ronaldo between 1994-1999. It was a shame his life style, here in Spain we all knew how he liked "the night life" and also his diet and health habits. When he got older that life style and his play style made easier him to get caught by injuries. Despite of ending career injuries for the 99% of the players, he returned and still was World class player, but before injuries he performed, almost achieved and specially SHOWED IN THE FIELD that he was simply and will be remembered as the GOAT by many of us.
