Companies say shit like "our range is lighter because darker ones wouldnt sell" AND YET Fenty Beauty sold out their darker shades first, i checked the website yesterday and all the light ones were available but many of the dark shades were out of stock 😊

Brown Orange Do you mean Fenty doesn't have as many dark shades? Because each skin category has 10 shades to choose from. They look lighter in the bottle because the glass is frosted, but if you look at the shade chart and comparable swatches, there's a good amount of deep shades to choose from 😄

Brown Orange Yes, but that doesn't even matter. Catering to all skin tones doesn't mean you have to make the same amount of every shade, just that anyone can access good quality make up without being disappointed that they aren't even on the company's shade chart.

Also to add onto what brown orange said, consumers won't have to purchase more for some time now. Yeah it sold out, but they more than likely didn't make more than 2% of there products in that shade. Business 101. No one is saying they should not make shades like that. But if you end up not liking the shade, it means a massive loss of revenue for the company. It's not so simple that you can just say something is true and it will be true. Every single company does this. It's risk vs reward and the risk in providing to an unknown market is VERY high. This isn't really an unknown market either. They know that this market is extremely hit or miss. Which raises the risk level even higher. They are not the first company to sell a dark shade. No one is trying to be insensitive towards anyone. A company has to make money, they can't just spend a large sum of money with no return, this damages a company severely. Would you rather see 100 more dark shades, or your favorite brand fail? How about making an effort to contact your favorite company and offer your opinion on the shades instead of complaining about non sense.

Yessss, like 5 years ago when I did modeling they didn't make a shade my color. Not one company. I had to make my own by mixing Halloween face paint with foundation and moisturizer, and some of my darker modeling friends had the same problem but now lines like these have such a wide range it makes me so happy :))

this was a really good video, i grew up with alot of south Sudanese people in the twin cities, one of my son's best friend is Sudanese, and he has the smoothest darkest skin. tbh you don't need any makeup, your skin is flawless, but i understand as a female not wanting to be left out, and being able to use products like everyone else. i don't really watch too many makeup people, but this was a very good review thank you for sharing your beauty with the world =)

She literally already made 40 shades of foundations from the lightest to the darkest. She is covering up most of the skin tone that can be seen, but she won't be able to make everything that covers up every individuals. This one is already close enough. I think if some people make their own brand and focus on one tone only (dark/white/yellow) maybe they can cover up all people with any skin tone. Riri has done enough, we should applaud her.

I'm watching this video after watching a review for the lightest shade and it makes me really happy that Fenti works for both extremely dark and extremely light skin. Legit cried bc they cared about girls of all skin tones. Usually if a brand has super pale shades they dont have the real dark shades, or vise versa. Fenty beauty actually had something for me and for my dark skinned friends. I never thought I'd get so emotional over makeup but seeing such an inclusive line up of foundation was so heart warming I just lost it and let myself cry 💖

Miette Craig how is it overreacting? Dark skin women are left out of society and ignored.The perception of beauty doesn't include a dark skinned woman, so having shades that fit our skin tone is a blessing. Don't tell us how to react when society caters to your skin tone as a pale, white woman🙂

I really dont think it was an overreaction at all?? I've watched my dark skinned friends struggle for years for find a foundation shade that works for them because of sheer racism in the makeup industry. Makeup companies thinking that if you're a woc you have to have light skin to be beautiful, and that's bullshit. So, yes being able to go to Sephora, have a form of albinism and my best friend having gorgeously dark chocolate colored skin and us BOTH finding a shade of foundation that works for us, especially from the same line?? That was emotional idc we've struggled together over un inclusive makeup lines for years and now there's something we can love together. Call me dramatic idc I'm fucking happy for her.
