Hello! Just found and subscribed to your channel after seeing this video only part way. I love how you slowly show us how to do this stitch. It seems quite easy to do. I'm hoping to make a rug or two like this, soon. Am gonna hafta wait until I can get the cotton yarn, though, cause, with the research I've done, it seems to be the best kind of yarn to use for a kitchen rug or rugs anywhere in your house. Plus, to me, it is much softer underfoot than acrylic yarns. And, it's more breathable and cooler than acrylic yarns are. TYSM for sharing this video with us and showing us your beautiful rugs. 🥰👍

I've learnt something new! Thank you for sharing; I've been wanting to make a crochet rug for a while now....made two attempts using another 'loopy' method but it never worked for me; I abandoned that idea. Looking forward to trying this, also you're so joyful....its infectious ☺️

@@ferbasar at the 19 minutes 16 second mark in this video what did you do at the end of your foundation row of double crochet? It looks like you chained and went into the last stitch??? You didn't say what you did and I don't want to get lost making this. Thanks!! This is just before you chain the first 5. It's the stitch you did the first single crochet in.

Ok, this is probably a silly question. Why can’t you crochet all the double crochet snitch to make the bottom/mat, then go back and crochet the single snitch loops in between the post?
@ferbasar
@ferbasar 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do that way too. 2 Steps though... I like to finish it when I am done on the last row 😉

That would be a good way to go if you want to make the base in a different color, for example if you don't have a lot of yarn. The base probably won't show much so you could use something different for that.

How do you stop the rug from being misshapen. Every time I try to crochet it it’s uneven
@ferbasar
@ferbasar 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is tricky but, the end result is fantastic. I counted every row to have the exact numbers. Also, be cautious not to increase or decrease on the end and beginning of each row.

Hi am trying to do this in bernat softee chunky I have done it on size 8 hook then a 6 and it’s not working out what hook would you think I should sure am going to try it on a 5 hook please help if you can thanks Denise
@ferbasar
@ferbasar 4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend you to look at the label. There should be a size hook recommendation for you to crochet it with. If you are a tighter crocheter you can go up a size or if a are a loose crocheter you can go down a hook size.
