Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Pv 22:6) Jonathan Edwards grew up in a praying house. Be an example in prayer.

I think one could also start by explaining to our children,grandchildren,great grandchildren when they are still little of how the war started in heaven, continued in the garden of Eden and that since then we see the resulting enmity between humanity and the serpent who hates us because we are made in God's image.

Nathan - Raise your children in the love and fear of God, to be strong and courageous, to put ALL your hope in the LORD. (Ps.31:24); to love the Triune God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), willingly submit to God’s purposes for your life today and dependence on God - trust the Father, abide in the Son, and walk by the Spirit. Pray by His grace they will seek to obey His Word.(John 14:15,21,23) Amen to Steve Lawson 🙏🥰

I am just so dismayed…I reared my son for God and with God as a single mom and he embraced Jesus. Then 2 years ago he walked away from God and me. I pray n cry out Ezekiel 36:26 many times a day. I do not know how to live without my son….nor do I want to.

Give him entirely to God. God loves him more than you do. We can make idols of our children. They are not ours. They have been loaned to us for a season. You have been a wonderful mother. You have sown the precious seed and watered it by prayer and faith. God knows the pain in your heart. Give it all to Him. Don't be dismayed. Not about anything. I'm talking from experience. He is so much bigger and so much better and so more loving and so more faithful than we can ever hope or imagine. Keep looking to Him who have His beloved Son for us. He is able. He is worthy. He alone. God bless you. (And you know, without Him we can do nothing. He is our brilliance and we His workmanship.)

I know the pain. My son also walked away and doesn't want anything to do with me. That was 15 years ago! But, God! He will never leave us nor forsake us. Keep praying. Keep hoping. God hears our prayers and He in His time will provide and redeem. That's our Father and He loves us.

As much as I enjoyed this message I utterly disagree about homeschooling doesn’t change anything. Childrens most influential years are when they are young. Homeschooling your children provides a safe environment while they are impressionable and allows you to give them a solid biblical foundation they won’t get at school. By time they go off on their own we should have built a very solid foundation for them and of course it’s their choice whether they walk in through or not but it’s our job to do the influencing.

You would think the church would be the place where parents could go for help and guidance but unfortunately many have forsaken bible teaching. Churches are bring filled with people who are rejecting Gods commands because they believe and are being taught from the pulpit that these commands about fleeing immortality, are old fashioned and not relevant to the culture. Gods commands are commands not optional. Gods says if you love me, you will keep my commands.

not all churches though, our family it’s under the biblical teaching of the word and Pastor love and live the word of God.

God says. If you love me you will keep my commands. Reverse that scripture. You dont love God if you don't keep his commands. I don't see any optionals here. Its a call for obedience. No More No less.

I agree to a degree. Since we are the church, I sincerely believe it’s the parents job to teach their children. The local “church/assembly” should be more of an addition. IMO, that’s what’s wrong with the church, too many parents just want to do the routine of life without much time, sacrifice, and attention giving to discipling their kids. When you listen to older men/women in the faith, you hear an ongoing theme, their parents, grandparents, or some adult was investing the in their lives and teaching them the word of God. In the last decades that’s been swiftly and subtly dissolving. Christians complain about public schools removing prayer and religion, but how many took that as a warning sign for THEM to train up their kids. In our home, I’m a SAH wife, mother and homeschooler (kids are 12 boy & 10 girl.) We start our days off with prayer, the word (we’re going through a book, not just hand picked scripture). Not perfect, but they understand the scripture better when they’re giving foundation and context. Along with the word, I help my kids to understand biblical worldview, Logic, and critical thinking. As a family my husband is going through and teaching us Genesis. Every Sunday after church, as we’re sitting around the table for supper, we go over the sermon and ask our kids questions. My husband typically ask them questions throughout the week as well. I don’t say these thing’s in a bragging and prideful way (we’re definitely NOT perfect in any of this!) But I just think parents have become spiritually lazy and have inadvertently made the pastor(s), the priest of their homes.

Who in their right mind would bring a child into this world?
@gummylens5465 Жыл бұрын
Used to think the same. But you'd be surprised because Christians and Muslims tend to have more children than secular folks. Outnumbering can't hurt in terms of being influential.

😢 The LORD will protect them and so it's their parents responsibility to do so as well. "Offense and defense" as Dr. Lawson put it.
