love stories where machines that have stayed in the family. I have my grandfathers 1953 grey fergie

That’s awesome mate. My Fergy is a 54 model but it was not from family sadly. We do still have a couple of other implements that were from my great grandfather and his brothers. We love preserving the history.

I was wondering do you have any advice for starting a Ferguson implaments collection
@vintagetractorsaustralia2 жыл бұрын
My advice would be, always look for the brass tag, all Ferguson implements had one. Also grab yourself a Ferguson book that has a lot of implements in it, this way you know what something is if it pops up for sale, people often advertise things and don’t actually know what it is.

@@vintagetractorsaustralia also any advice about restoring a Ferguson benchsaw
@vintagetractorsaustralia2 жыл бұрын
@@martincorrigan1791 not really. They are very simple. Just disassemble, clean, lubricate everything. And then we took the blade to be professionally set and sharpened. Once they are set you can touch up the blade with a file if needed.
