I've had my TO 30 for 30 years and always called it Massey Ferguson. Checked my owners Manuel and sure enough, just says Ferguson

These where made when Henry ford and Ferguson where in production together this tractor is a Massey Ferguson becuase they where still making ford tractors at the time both these tractor actually fall in the both column for an equal amount of work put in from both sides

Connellys landscaping tgis tractor has nothing to do with ford , its a ferguson to30 the to stands for tractor overseas

@@connellyslandmanagement725 Harry Ferguson and Henry Ford had a handshake agreement in 1938, which resulted in the 1939 Ford Ferguson 9N, and in 1942 the 2N. When Henry Ford II took over in the mid-40s, he broke the handshake agreement. So Ferguson started to build their own tractors, first was the Ferguson TE20 (E for England) and TO20 (O for over seas from England). Later was the TE30 and TO30. In the early to mid 50s Massey Harris and Ferguson merged. Things got muddled as both were producing their lines until around '56 or '57 when the lines got combined. The name Massey Ferguson came out of that merger, and that's when the MF name was put on the tractors. The one in this video is pre-merger, so it's a Ferguson. It should be all gray, with no red.

to 30 's went from 1952 - 1954 not the 90's

1951 to 1954. Per Steiner parts book. I have a 52, thought to be a 54 until I got the parts book and tried to order for a 54.

Nice Ferguson. They built some great tractors when they were with Ford too. I want to buy one some day.

Harry Ferguson agreed to put His patented 3 point Hitch system on Henry Ford’s 9N and 2N tractor. The 9N came out in 1939 and the 2N in 1942 hence the model No. Harry Ferguson, disgusted with Ford, brought out His entire Tractor, the TO20, in late 1947. Correspondingly, Ford brought out Their 8N in 1948. They were told by Harry Ferguson that They( Ford ) were not allowed to use Ferguson’s PATENTED system. They did anyway and, we’re Sued by Harry Ferguson. Owing to the inefficiency and slow speed of the Court system Ford continued to produce the 8N until August of 1952 at which time They ( Ford ) were ordered to stop production on the 8N. The TO in front of TO 20 TO 30 etc. stands for Tractor Overseas as Harry Ferguson originally based in England. The Tractors produced in England would be model numbered TO 20 etc.
@Corvacar9 ай бұрын
Correction: the Tractors produced in England are TE 20. Not TO. The TO 30 in Your vid started production in 1951 and went to early 1954 at which time Harry Ferguson merged with Massey Harris and, the rest is History.
I had to rewind that make shore I heard him say that cuz that killed my sole haha

My ferguson TO 30 will start but not keep running. Sometimes run a few seconds or several minutes. Filter screen in side gas tank is clean. Fuel flowing good thru line good. Fresh Gas. Any ideas ? I'm in Mississippi, sounds like you are close.
@chrish91404 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may need to rebuild the carb. If that doesnt work check to make sure your timing is correct or if you have weak spark.
@billbyrnes95053 жыл бұрын
I can tell you a story. I bought a 1952 TO 30, 25 years ago. A friend of a friend was restoring the tractor and suddenly passed away, that is when I purchased it. A friend of mine put a kill switch on it, hidden, so no one could steal it. It ran fine for a couple of hours, then stalled. Weeks went by, then I thought, it did not do this before the switch, which was used. Took off the switch, no problems. Used switch, go figure. Then, my wife wants to no why the tractor won't idle right. Spittin' and sputterin' like it never done before. I ran this tractor for a few years, it would never idle less than three to five hundred rpm. Checked the timing, 180 degrees out? How did that work. It will idle so low now, it won't pick and circulate the oil. ( Not a good thing, but it will idle now. I am innorth eastern Ohio. This tractor has worked it's ass off and have only put a clutch, oil change and tune up on it. Now a wheel seal is out. They just don't make em' like they used to.😁👍👍👍👍👍👍

TO 30's where built 1951 to1954, per Steiner parts book. I believe live power wasn't offered until the To 35's? I have a 30 gas, and a 35 diesel. 35, live power, 30, not!
