The whole show is phenomenal .... and then Steve Vai appeared ... and everything else becomes irrelevant .... "For the love of God" Epic, phenomenally, completely out of every common sense. ....

This bring back so many memories for me! I was pretty much at the beginning of my guitar initiation. I’d spent all my post office account money on an Argos hohner classical nylon strung guitar ( about £30!) and was teaching myself ( I still am, I’m 45 now) and recorded this on our first vhs recorder. And watched it, and watched it, and watched it! I also recorded it from the radio... must still have that tape somewhere!

This was a huge vid for me back when I first started guitar. After over a quarter of a century of playing and listening however, what strikes me the most this time round is how much more feeling and intensity the improvised outro to 'For The Love of God' has, compared to the composed actual instrumental itself. Food for musical thought.

Joe is a perfect example of how being a good guy (not to mention, a phenomenal guitarist) can open all sorts of doors. He has played with so many amazing artists and this concert just adds to that growing list. I didn't know he'd ever played the same stage with Joe Walsh and Paul Rodgers. I bet we could play a familiar game with his career as we do with a famous movie star. From Deep Purple and Mick Jagger to Steve Lukather and Michael Anthony, Joe has played with tons of iconic players. #SixDegreesofSatch

amongst all the glittery posing spandex and endless weedling guitar, Joe Walsh comes out looking like he's just got out of bed, and in the first 30 seconds wipes the floor with all of them....
@ginajames456411 ай бұрын
lol Joe Walsh was added because all the big name potential headliners either weren`t interested or werent available. Page, beck, etc were asked but couldnt/wouldnt do it. Instead we get old Joe Walsh shambling on and looking and sounding obsolete. It was hard rock/heavy night, what tf has Joe Walsh done that was hard/heavy? lol. He was literally there because all the preferred choices werent.

I think Paul Rodgers lifted this show. But without a doubt Steve Vai was ahead of his time. Taking care of its appearance and staging. From this hubbub the idea germinated in Steve Vai's head to create the G3 tours.

Nathan East on bass (with Satch) , Satch fans will note that Nathan East played on Joe's self-titled album in 1995. Cozy Powell (white man) RIP and Steve Ferrone (black man) on drums

Not a full concert. Mine have more elements like nuno's improvisation, cozy and ferrone impro with Vai and Wakeman impro on piano.And Vai's plays more stuff and Mai. But it's ok for british TV on 1991 :-) I'm Spanish and have a full concert but i don't have digital copy. My cassette's was lost few years ago and have only a copy on DVDR. I can't found now, i'm trying to find but i have huge collection of old DVDR's. When i have my copy, i upload a FULL concert in Spanish, but Full. Thanks for your contrib man :_)
