When I heard that Van Halen intro my ears perked up. Gilbert keeping his fingers busy while singing is very impressive. That Bass player singing is know small feat. I Like John Paul Jones interview ecspecially how he down plays being in Led Zeppelin. Nuno sounds like he could be in any Grunge, Punk, funk, progressive rock band all at once.

It's Mike Szuter on bass. Szuter was part of Paul Gilbert's band at the time, and was the bass player for Guitar Wars. Szuter is a great singer, guitar player, songwriter, bass player, etc. You should check out his original stuff (The Szuters, Magna-Fi, Outta The Blue).

In terms of the singing, Gary was still better than everyone else and he wasn’t supposed to be singing everything. Thinking he strained his voice rehearsing the Zepp songs but he did more than fine. And while all the concerts from Japan are really good, I’ve never seen one that’s got great sound.
