Ferrari 288 GTO | Autumn Sunset Run | 4K

The Ferrari 288 GTO is the number one of the Ferrari "Big 5".
From 1984 to 1986 a total of only 272 cars were built.
Cars in a good condition like this one fetch prices of around 3.5 million euros today.
We were allowed to create a shortfilm for the company Schaltkulisse GmbH of this 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO.
With just under 14,400 km on the clock, this Ferrari looks so pristine!

This Ferrari is MAGNIFICENT....... the shape of it is to die for.....!!!! It reminds me of the Triumph TR 7 I had 22 years ago.... it was a 1975 model .......Where the headlights go up like this Ferrari...... An absolutely gorgeous car now. But I remember when it came out, it was even more stunning at its debut. Nowadays there are a lot of supercar manufacturers, but back then in the mid 80's, this stood out even more. Sure, there were Lamborghini Countaches, but the GTO suprassed those in styling, was made to be a race car (can't get sportier than that), and was the ultimate performer at its debut.

It was so unlike any other Ferrari that had come before it.....I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW it’s based on and still resembles the 308, and it takes inspiration from the original GTO. It has a engine intended for race tuning but the outside isn’t the absolute visual epitome of a racing car as the F40 would be....and it’s not quite as genteel as the 246 and 308 Dino’s were....it was created with a design language that we haven’t seen Ferrari use before it, or since...the F12 TDF is the closest... The louvered engine cover that sat below, and in between the rear buttresses led to the Perspex F40 piece...the dominant front 4 driving lights and the sheer size/depth of the front splitter/lip/ spoiler what have you is all business compared to the F40,s “Smile”...the additional ducting just behind the small rear side windows can be traced to the 308 Dino 2+2, and it remained as the GTO morphed into the F40...

when i see this car... he has something more.... has the same style from his antecessors, 308 GTS and 512bb u see some part of his silhouette on this car... but is something new, more agressive and reimaginated from others... i think this is the last oldschool looking ferrari, F40 is too much...racecar, and this one has the visual of a road car.... not so road car thats why this is my favorite.... and it never could race ....
