Very impressive the attention to detail. I don’t give compliments easily. When I hire a professional to do a job and it comes out well done, that’s what I expect. In this case I would have to say you went above and beyond. Especially since only a handful of people will see what you have accomplished. Congratulations 👍✌️☮️

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words. The attention to detail is what I am all about from detailing, restoration and everything I do in the automotive world. I live eat and breathe cars at this level. Make sure you check out the Ferrari F355 video where I highlight the insanity of restoration details on that project it is linked at the end of this video.

Fantastic work, and I appreciate the fact that you kept and restored as many of the OEM Ferrari parts as possible--which is certainly the more time consuming way to go, but I'm sure the owner appreciates it! Not only is the car going to look amazing, its going to feel much better on the road with all the new bushings.

Wow! I agree 100% with Mesmerized Car Detailing, what an enjoyable video to watch. Thank you Phil for sharing these restoration highlights. Now I truly understand how Auto Fanatic fits your life choice. And to think, 30 years ago when the internet first started we would have the opportunity to watch extraordinary talent and skills displayed in a 16:42 minute video on a computer. Thanks again for all you do on this channel.

Glad you enjoyed it I will post more of these style videos as I work on other projects coming up. The number 1 thing I would like to share with anyone who watches this video or reads these comments is my work ethic. When I work on any car or special project no matter what, I go above and beyond to over deliver and treat it as if it was my very own and as if the world is watching me do it. I ignore the money aspect always and just focus on channeling my passion and precision in my craft. Been like this since a teenager obsessing over details and I will never change my work ethic approach for anything in the world.

Nice work, would rather buy these older 1970-1990 Italian cars than almost anything new today. Alfa spider, GTV, GTV6 and Ferrari Mondials high on my list. Crazy I know, especially the Mondial…

@@autofanaticcars Cars are becoming like phones, disposable every few years as people need to have the latest shiny objects. That 328 has far better lines than the new C8 IMHO.

Hi this is the later revised version of the Magnum PI car, Magnum drove a 308 and they were later updated in 1985 to 89 to 328 models, in 1988.5 they introduced suspension and brake updates including the first Ferrari to integrate ABS on a road car.

the great part about restoring a classic Ferrari is that they are appreciating assets that continue to rise in value each year so the money spent only adds to the investment and is never a loss on these cars when done right, same goes for a Porsche and other specialty cars in the collector car market. Buy the the car at the right time and your golden for years to come.

Nice job. Do the calipers not have any protection / paint on them?
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars Жыл бұрын
hi the original finish on the brake calipers is a flash coating of a yellow cad zinc style plating. We want to send these out to get them re-plated but plating companies are extremely unreliable these days and it could tie up the project for months so we have to plan accordingly for that stage in the future if the owner decides. We searched for donor cores but this car is rare since it has ABS and the calipers are specific and not easy to find used.

Beautiful results. How much (ballpark) do these restorations typically cost?
@autofanaticcars

A lot due to cost of parts and hundreds of hours of labor it all varies on the car and its needs but if this is something you want to discuss in detail on a project of your own reach out anytime to discuss via email.

What is it that makes the new paint withstand coming off? Is it the type of paint or a coating on the paint? Will it hold up to pressure washing?
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars Жыл бұрын
proper preparation and modern chemistry of the materials we use today versus what was used 35 years ago. projects like this take hundreds of hours of prep for the final result and is the hardest part of any restoration project. This car could not only withstand pressure washing now but most of those panels can be hit with a salt spray gun with no effect after the processes I use on the repairs and finishing.

all the other cars are in climate controlled storage at the car club, hope to show more content once we relocate to a nice area to drive because the roads in my area are dangerous and destructive on cars especially ones as highly detailed as mine underneath.

That front Aluminum panel needs kerf notches cut into the front corners. Otherwise it will just bend again when you bolt it up. You don't show an after shot. It looks like a total oversight by Ferrari. They knew the car buyer would never see it.
