@@GS-pn4ld the 720S is faster but lost to the Pista on all 5 tracks? The quoted 1/4 mile is the same at 10.1 so we need to see some Pista's at the track to see if they go faster like the 720S that has run 9.7 a few times but does run 9.9 consistently. Top end is the only place the 720S will for sure be faster as the Pista has more downforce for track use

@GS-pn4ld5 жыл бұрын
@@eichler721 Those are good points you make. I can't argue about that. But, like I said, the Pista is the top model. It's shouldn't be a comparison in any category. The 720s was out way before Pista. So, it should destroy it on track and in a straight line. So, the comparison between cars is apples to oranges. If and when we get a 720s track version, that should be the car we are comparing. We have had about 3 versions of the 488... Only the Pista can really compete with 720s. I would like to see those track times you mention to see what the difference is. In the meantime, those Pista numbers will only be better until the lt model is out.

@@GS-pn4ld the F8 has not even had number put out other then HP so we will see. The 488Pista and 720S are 1 year 1 day apart. May 2017 and June 2018. They are on separate cycles. The LT version will show next year and be out in the fall most likely so it's never really fair

Yes, the 488 pista is indeed too fast for public roads… In fact, all cars with of around a ~0.2 horsepower-to-weight coefficient or more are too powerful for public roads (e.g. 500 hp in a 2,500 lbs car, 600 hp in a 3,000 lbs car, or 700 hp in a 3,500 lbs car). Another few examples of cars to fast for the road are: - Porsche Carrera GT - Porsche 911 GT2 RS - Porsche 918 Spyder - McLaren Solus GT - McLaren F1 - Ferrari Enzo/FXX - Ferrari LaFerrari/FXX-K - Ferrari F12/F12tdf

@Stef I'm not sure you understood my comment. I was making fun of that statement. I think it's silly saying a car is to fast for the road. Personally I'm a car collector who's has a hot rod shop on route 66 that we opened back in 2000. We've held the title of fastest street car in the 4 states twice. Love your BMW choices! I've got a clean black on black 328IS tucked away waiting for me to finish the body kit on at some point. For the most part I'm first and foremost a Corvette collector. With a nasty Datsun 240Z addiction. But speaking of to fast for the road. I've gotta admit, selling off a few toys and buying a new mid engine Corvette has been a VERY tempting thought as of late. Have a wonderful day my friend!

The mandatory speed limit is one of the biggest blatant attacks on human freedom to come
@jamesshives56795 жыл бұрын
Arne Hurnik First of all, I said "one of", and second, I said "attacks on human freedom to come." Which narrows it down significantly, and eliminates much of your comment, because those things are already happening, and some of them aren't even attacks on human freedom, they're just massive societal issues (i.e. war mongering, fake news) I wasn't talking about anything else, I was only addressing mandatory speed limits, and nowhere did I say that it was the only problem or *the* biggest problem in the world today. Still, think about it, we already have speed limits, if someone doesn't follow them, they get reprimanded in any number of ways. Yet now, that's not enough for them. Now they want to physically restrict people, which, to me, is crossing a line in a pretty serious way. Even if it is not going to make a difference in the majority of people's lives since most don't speed excessively anyway, it's the fact that they're thinking they have the right to limit human freedom to such a degree. And if they think that, and can carry it out so easily, when and where are they going to stop? Who is to say that it ends at a mandatory speed limit? What will limit them? It may sound like I'm blowing things out of proportion, and maybe I am, but time will tell. Understand though, my point of view isn't that this *is* the problem, but that it is representative of it, and *one of* the biggest blatant ways (because not all of them will be so obvious) in which human freedom is being restricted or will be restricted in the future beyond reasonable measures. And, it may only be the beginning if people ignore something like this. The devil is in the details, they say; the small things can make a big difference. I wouldn't overlook this as insignificant, but that's me.

@@chrisgarret3285 Ferraris have a better designed interior and exterior, they sound better, have a quicker gearbox, overall better driving experience (much fun to drive), and more practicality. McLaren focuses only on speed but Ferrari is a better road car . '9k rpm!' - shows 8k redline on rev counter. The old 458 hit 9k, not this lump although 8k is still very impressive! :)
