Because they are Europeans. Try to film someone on the street in Germany without getting his permission first and he will teach you a lesson in respect of privacy. Policemen are even more difficult. Italians are just the same.

Thorsten Latz you don’t legally need permission to film/photograph people in a public place where privacy is not expected: beach, shopping mall, park, public street, etc.
@Kref35 жыл бұрын
@@jk844100 In Germany you do. Called "Recht am eigenen Bild" Right at the own picture (literally translated). My face is my face and I can decide what to do with it. If you shoot an image of some scenery with me in the background, I can do nothing about it, that is not a problem. Because I can expect a certain level of anonymity and privacy even in public. You take a picture of a celebrity from a public road of him walking down his drive way in jogging pants bringing out his trash? Oh my, you are in trouble. You take a picture of said actor when he is out privately with his kids whom he never presented to the public and you shoot his kids? haha.... press photographers who did that have been sued to pay tens of thousands of euros in damages by the actor. Only when a person acts in a way that makes documenting his acts relevant, this is a waiver of privacy (demonstrations, celebrities acting in their role as celebrity, but not in private). Tom Cruise, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence might sit together for lunch in the outdoor area of a German restaurant. Shoot them, you can get in a shitload of trouble. They are not there to present themselves to the public, but as private persons so let them be in privacy even though it is a public place. They walk down the red carpet to present their movie? OK, then you can shoot. I walk down the road, you cannot legally photograph me. I go to a demonstration and participate in the protests, you are entiteled to document the protests and of course me, too. I stand in front of a scenery, you want to take a picture of the scenery and I happen to be in the picture (but clearly not the subject of your photo), perfectly ok. You put me in the center and focus, I can make your life difficult. If I find a picture of mine being used commercially, even I can sue you, make you stop and pay me damages. Street photography is a very grey thing in Germany (and many other European countries).
