Ferrari F12 Berlinetta HOT Glowing Brakes & Flames!

A good example is this Ferrari F12 Berlinetta driving flatout around Fiorano, Ferrari's private test track. During the braking zones you can see the front brake disks getting hot and some flames popping out the exhaust!

Recently one of our neighbour bought one and he drives it occasionally around the block... man I tell the sound of it is unreal, every shift, every crackle is so clear you feel it in your chest and when it's on full throttle its music to the ears.

For me it is the 2nd gear pull that is actually 3rd gear that gets me. The tempo changes like 2nd gear but the speed of the pitch change reveals the speed is way over 100kph... and you know that is still the limit of traction with the GLORIOUS V12 sound. What a Soprano!

+john hamlet Yes it's normal, any car does that if you break hard, it's just that at night it's much easier to see that! Carbon ceramic brakes are made to resist more at high temperatures

Looks awesome, but are brakes supposed to glow like this? I would guess that if it heats up to that extent, the rotor itself is prone to getting warped, or that the other braking components would wear down very quickly. At least that's what can happen in non-supercars when rotors are heavily overheated. I'd assume the cooling (meaning, the rotors would be designed in such a way that they'd allow maximum airflow to prevent overheating) would be sufficient enough to prevent this kind of thing, no?
