To him they're merely a tool. In racing he wants the best tool so that he win the race. When he's driving with his family a van is the best tool - because it can carry all that luggage his family has when traveling. To Kimi cars aren't some expensive furs or gaudy jewelry to show to others - because he doesn't give a s*it about what others think about him. And when you get to drive Ferrari road cars regularly they just become "fast street cars" but Kimi isn't interested in going "street racing" (like stupid kids) he likes racing on a track. Since Ferrari road cars are like toys compared to their F1 racer it goes without saying he isn't particularly impressed. He just thinks:"Oh, their latest model. It's cool. They make cool cars.
