I was driven on a few hot laps of Brands in a BMW road car by Mark Webber a few years ago. At the absolute limit while chatting away, casually looking at the scenery passing, and clearly operating at about 20% effort. These guys are on an entirely different level. He was explaining to me that compared to an F1 car, even a sharp road car does everything in slow motion.

Soccer is a name the Americans adopted because they already had a game called "football" in their land, which you mainly play using you're hands..... And armour fit for an army, basically rugby with protection, but each to their own.

I know it sounds weird, and I know Martin was an F1 driver, but I never think of him as being someone who could still drive a road car faster than probably 99% of people on this planet. This video (and Kimis comments) are a good reminder that he's still got it.

Brundle won the Daytona 24 hour, and in 1990 he won Le Mans. He was far more successful in sports cars than in F1. This sort of car is perfect for his skills.

Amazing how he can calibrate his brain to left foot braking in an F1 car with adequate pressure and then move to right foot on road cars

Its' not too hard when you do it a few times. I drive on the road using right foot, but in the sim I use left foot or right depending if H pattern box with clutch or not. Mostly on the sim I use left foot as drive more cars without a clutch on there.

@@ian260672 Same. Back when I started doing my driver's license, I instinctively started with left-foot braking because that's what I'd learned in sim rallying. Needless to say, the instructor put an end to that pretty quickly. I asked him why can't I use my right foot for braking when I need to use the clutch too, and use left-foot braking otherwise. He was a little confused by the question, but eventually said "Look, you won't pass the test like that, and part of my job is to make sure you pass the test. Once that's over with, you can do it however you like as long as it's safe."

I think Martin probably commented on the lack of left foot braking because Martin could no longer left foot brake after his crash in 1984. I bet that still sticks with him.

Agreed, it's amazing how many world champions and world class drivers Finland has produced. Hakkinen, Makinen, Kankkunen, Vatanen, Hirvonen, Toivonen, Rovanpera, Mikkola, Gronholm, Alén, Latvala, Rosberg, Kovaleinen, Salo, Lehto, Bottas plus many more that I probably missed. But look at the amount of legendary names in that list alone!!

Brundle looked worried as a passenger with Räikkönen driving the 488 at the edge. The blush and tense look disappeared when they switched. So the worried "not being in control" feeling does not go away after decades of motor sports.

Shame they didn't have more cameras around the track as it would have been fun to slot in some external shots whilst at speed (doughnuts don't count). Must have been a small budget.

Kimi is so natural, he hardly seems to be concentrating. Brundle is/was a great driver but it's two different classes.

Kimi for me at his time the BEST F1 driver. He have not always luck in his F1 time with the cars otherwise he would be more than one time world champion for ferrari. But anyhow i´m a fan from kimi. Such drivers the F1 scene needed more.

Kimi will be Missed in F1 . The Incident I remember in F1 that is never spoken of is when Lewis rear ended him at the exit of the pits. "I wonder why" Would Love to see on "You Tube"

Ferrari trust him, and rightly so. 1988 World Sports Car Champion, Daytona 24-hour winner, 1990 Le Mans winner. Brundle is in that special club of drivers that get to drive the good stuff, and rightly so.
