"Sacked due to performance issues"....... but surely his last bonus payment was also tied to performance, and he seemingly didnt do too badly out of that contractual clause. "He will be sacked in accordance to his contract" she stated, but what did his contract state in regards severance and premature termination? What does the "golden parachute" clause actually contain specifically?..... it may very well state he is due hundreds of thousands if his contract doesnt run its intended duration. Completely dodging the question asked of her. "The ships design was complex"? The ships initial tender specifications were a carbon copy of another ship (in use in scandinavia IIRC), is it in service, and did it meet the 3 pillars of project management in regards Quality, cost and time? The tender proposal from FM didnt meet the design specs of CMAL/CALMAC, it was one of the reasons the tender award was so contested..... every other actor was bidding on apples, and the tender was awarded on a design proposal from FM that was in all regards, an orange..... that later was changed to become a pear, and again to resemble something neither apple nor pear. It was lazy design specifications to start with, that's later caused many of the issues....... they were straightforward to start with, for the ferry in Scandinavia they were intended used on. An exercise in how to turn a project of national pride, into one of national disgrace. The workforce should have all been handed they keys to a brand new Aston Martin, and had £1m deposited in their accounts and sent home to early retirement....... the scottish taxpayer would have still saved money and had change to buy a ferry from Turkey.

When the contract was signed for the ferries, the cost should have been settled and locked in. If the cost were to rise, the contractor should foot the bill or a clause put in place stating that any additional costs could either be paid, subject to the government approval or to walk away from the deal. Instead, it's been a complete money pit, with so far nothing to show for it. The SNP should step down and repay tax payers money. All they do is over spend, under deliver and blame everyone else for their failures.
