This panel will delve into the evolving dynamics of global conflicts and the pursuit of peace. In a world in which violent conflicts are back on the front pages of the news, there is a need to understand the causes of contemporary conflicts, the impact of broad trends like geopolitical competition and globalization, and the roles of international organizations and local actors in conflict resolution. In the context of persistent violence from Ukraine to Gaza, from Sudan to Myanmar, the panel will discuss the strategies for building sustainable peace, and how to navigate the challenges of managing conflict in our times.

What is the common denominator in the conflicts involving Europe and middle east ? The USA. The USA is on a different continent, far away. There is no way they'd allow the peaceful connectivity of the Eurasian continent. The east-west peaceful connectivity and integration of the Eurasian continent would spell disaster for the USA, in their views.

Absolutely. The US's role in the world is a saboteur against economic developments around the world. Asean is not spared. China is the builder but cast by the mainstream media as the aggressor. Academics often dare not challenge that because SG avademia is so connected to US and the West.

Anywhere in the world, if there is a border dispute, it is usually the result of a line drawn by an Englishman; if it is an internal dispute, it is usually the US fueling it with diplomatic, financial, covert, and military support. Difference in implementation of divide and conquer strategy.

Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of the Almighty God.

Mr. Michael’s view is different. He’s rather critical of the current situation. It’s not easy for speakers to point out weaknesses. We shall respect his view.

From a moral perspective, wars definitely do not make sense. But from an economic viewpoint of those who are in the business of selling regional conflicts, war is the only thing that makes sense. 😔

The (neo-)colonialists have no morals, only propaganda, brainwashing and whitewashing.

Jai Hind. According to Mahathir, the Ukraine war is caused by the European love for Wars.

Only Eve will still listen to a forked tongue again and again. Nothing happens in a vacuum, Kishore conveniently forgets the peace talk in Turkey and 2014, what the Palestinians suffered for 70 over years in a holocaust inflicted on them by the same people who conveniently forgets what they went through themselves.

Here again towards the ending, this Michael only has exactly the same anglo-saxon “hat”, still driving, trying to push through, exactly the same typical ideology, that had and have continuously failed in so many aspects of the many parts of the world hotspots in the past and in the present, even up to the present unnecessarily wars including Myanmar, while on the other hand, pushing down all real good efforts or rather, kept insinuating negativities, and worst, even with the positive outcome of peaceful agreement between Saudi and Iran. The world is not the same as yesteryears that in the past, do not have the time to decipher what this peaceful outcome means! Also, if not for the ways things are handled differently, there would be war in the region with this Myanmar internal issues, just like all the mess in Europe or Middle East! Yet this guy who had or has been in this part of the world, can’t fathom or worked through in his mind, why’s it different here, or even China’s handling of Saudi Iran peace, or even, the recent peaceful settlements deal between different factions in Palestine?! This Michael still only has the failed anglo-saxon ways, self righteous views, ideology in this part of the world! This ONLY proved many times and once again, these typical anglo-saxon never intend or tried to learn or rather, care 💩 about the cultures, the ways, things are worked here! It’s A TOTAL WASTE that such guy is planted here just to soothe his way through - a truly sunset ideology (as a statement by KM) that the rest of the world won’t easily accept anymore, after all, China has presented a totally different model to work through things peacefully!
