All were having a good time. Fishan looked happy in the water, and it was nice to see him investigate, and then stand on the water bank observing his family. So much going on, but for me, it's still not enough. I could really watch this precious herd all the time, and I would still be looking forward for more. Thank you, Carer Last. This video is really full of energy and excitement, and everyone seems to understand that it is a festive season. Timi and Khanyisa would really follow each other everywhere. When one is there, you can be sure that the other is just near. Somopane is on daddy duties today, and he's doing an impeccable job at it. I love how he keeps a close eye on the youngsters, especially Zindoga. I also noticed that oftentimes when Mambo tries to engage Setombe on a spar, Zindoga usually intercepts him or comes between him and Setombe. And Sebakwe looks really powerful, at the same time adorable whenever splashing in the water. Merry Christmas everyone at HERD! That greeting at the beginning from the carers is really precious. I love Setombe giving Mambo a little tough love. He needs it now and then. I gather he is the mischievous one in the group which would be typical of a young male. Heed is unique because the male elephants don’t get kicked out like they do in the wild. It is neat to see the calming influence of the older males.

You're absolutely right, HERD is unique in that the male elephants stay with the herd longer, which allows for those important influences from the older males. It’s beautiful to witness how they help guide and calm the younger ones. 🐘💜
