Festool DURADRIVE DWC 18

After using the Milwaukee and DeWalt drywall guns for several months, I though I would try the Festool and return it if I didn't like it, but I loved it. The foot on the collate attachment is flatter and makes is more difficult to drive a screw at an angle. And the screw ribbons slide much smoother than the other two. It's about the same weight as the others, but balanced much better, not as front heavy as the other two. I also love the pulse action when I do miss drive a screw, which gives me small incremental turns to finish driving the screw without overdriving. You do have to remove the collate attachment for that feature, but it comes off and on very easy. Thank you for this great video.

Why two different machines??? Festool could easily have made this one machine with two speeds, or not?

I have the 4500, should I be using fine thread screws to attach pb to timber studs?

For attaching pb to studs and other timber, use coarse threads. Fine thread can be used when attaching pb to sheetwood/plywood.

Really wanted to like this tool but the forward reverse switch is in the worst position imaginable. To date the only festool purchase returned during the 30 day

I have used and personally find junk. The auto feature is nice, but when you have to remove the magazine its a pain in the neck comparared to the hilti where you simply push two buttons

"Lets take a look at the tool" by setting it down and picking another one up - I guess you don't know how to use them, just hold them.
