The reason it created that fillet at the 15m mark although you set it up correctly is because of the turret. There is a slight play in the turret up and down, so when you're setting it up (especially using the micro adjust) you will set it up correctly but when it comes to do the cut you usually tend to push down harder thus pushing the turret down. I _always_ compensate at the micro adjust with a couple of clicks right. I totally love the 2200 but really really wish it had a light inside so we can see what exactly is cutting, like the bosch gkf...

That tip with the right hand and the thumb and index finger is a game changer! (if you're like me and you still get confused sometimes) That's why I watch these even tho I don't have a 2200, I've got a 1010.

Aw man I missed the live stream. I noticed there's about 0.5mm play in the turret. So unless you push down very hard while setting the depth/locking to micro-adjust, you're going to go too deep by 0.5mm (like he did at 14:54). Why does the turret have this play?

Yeah, I have the 1400 and it’s not as precise as my porter cable plunge router. I mortise a lot of Soss hinges and find the porter cable a lot less clunky to set up and dial in.

@@arunkmrsharma I called Festool USA today and asked about this. Maybe Eric was his name? Anyhow, he said he didn't know about any play in the turret, and I should send it in for maintenance. I explained that they all have the play.. just wondering if there's an actual purpose to it. Was very funny to see the demo fall victim to the ~0.5mm inaccuracy though haha.

Mine has that issue too. I'd imagine it's because of the detents in the turret that allow it to "click" from position to position. I'd imagine also tightening it down will eliminate that play but will also make the turret inoperable as it will essentially lock it into position... :(, There's gotta be a way to redesign the turret.

The chip catcher for the edge guide is the only part that swaps between the two. Beyond that it’s all different. The ZS OF2200 accessory kit is awesome and gives you everything you need in a separate systainer. I just wish they would bring the same kit for the OF1010R to North America… Please?
