Cool, you will not be disappointed it is one awesome machine. Just used it with LR32 system on the sysport build and then to add a bull nose to the top of the sysport. Wow, absolutely effortless and easy to use. Thanks for the view, the subscription and the comment.

I love my 1400 but I do wish they made a center trammel for it.

+Michael Brindle Morning Michael, Festool used to make one I believe back in 2005 but it seems to have vanished. It was a clear plastic type device with the usual Festool quality (and price). There may be some around on eBay. The code was OF-FZ then a number that indicates the length. These days the recommended way is to use the Festool MFS, that is a good bit of kit for many router activities and also a great addition to the MFT as a very accurate square cutting guide. So a great solution if you have it or are thinking of adding it to your kit - but at a cost for all the various size rails. And overkill if circles and arcs is all you want it for (unless you cut a lot of them). Many people convert the Festool guide rail adapter into a pivot point by extending the length of one of the screws, it seems to work but I hate modifying things as you have to change it back again when you want to use it for the intended purpose. But it does work, there are a few KZbin videos about it. I did see one video that uses the MOF96 - but can’t find much about that, not sure if it’s a code used in a different country for the trammel for the smaller router - may be worth a research. The final resort is a good old piece of plywood. Personally I would go for the MFS, check out my review on it :-) I will be using the MFS as a trammel on an upcoming video in the bookcase series so look out for that. Cheers Andy

Great and informative vlog. Can I ask which router bits you use/recommend for the 1400? - many thanks

+42invincible Hi and thank you for the comment. I use a variety of makes I tend to go for 1/2” shank where I can. My every day go to router bits are axcaliber from Axminster. They do a great starter set here: www.axminster.co.uk/axcaliber-12-piece-1-2-12-7mm-long-shank-cutter-set-666066 On the Incra fence I use the whiteside set that are designed for the Incra templates. This is the set I use: woodworkersworkshop.co.uk/products/incra-router-bit-set-6-piece-joinery-metric On the Leigh jig, I am using the set that came with my second hand jig - these can be found here. www.axminster.co.uk/leigh-dovetail-jig-cutter-sets-ax20505 Hope this helps. Andy

Try use 30mm guide bush 😢 They are all loose and make a mess of your work
@TheWoodgrafter Жыл бұрын
I regularly use that bush and don’t have a problem. Having said that, I have upgraded the bush to a brass set :-) Cheers Andy

Yes any other bush is ok, it’s just the original clip in ring. Shame was a gr8 router. Sold it just couldn’t trust it.

You also need light module for your OF1400 kzbin.info1Cih0GhS1AA

I didn’t even know that existed, I can see that been a very useful addition for detailed work. Thank you for the tip. Cheers Andy
