It’s a pretty amazing system. Saw a guy had a full 4’x8 sheet of plywood on just one of those. If I ever have a shop or a dedicated work space one day, this is top of my must have list.

Great piece of kit. Though the manual says the guarantee only applies to the pump for use with Festool clamps. I use mine with pucks on my CNC router and prepared to accept a warranty argument.

Now that you have had vac sys for awhile would you buy it again. Are you finding more uses for it.

That's slick, had no idea it existed until I saw someone using it in a video today.

Rockler sells a similar unit. Can you review that.

Why does the work move when you are planing?

I don’t think there was enough vacuum surface with that rectangle shaped clamp either that or there was dust on his board but later on when he uses the round one that one doesn’t slide down at all when he’s trying to plane it

Good review. Can it be used with a vacuum bag? Ron

Its $1380, US and xtra +/- $350 for 3 different size clamp pads. I build face frames and wouldn't be able to use unless I buy the kit with smaller heads , and if I need 2 like size heads well that's more $. It's one of those dream tools when the tree in front of my house starts to bloom. Looks like an amazing tool but one I simply can't afford.

the system is not bad but vaccum holding solutions are not that complicated or expensive to quickly make yourself. your workhour must be worth 200$ or more to make that thing economical in a professional workshop. not to mention if you break something at some point. i like festool but there prices can go insane in some products.

This is definitely for workers who have high traffic. The jobs they get would eventually pay this system off. It's about four over a grand. To Rich for my blood. Do they have a diy yet?

For the price, I'll stick with a vise and clamps.

I made my own vacuum system over 20 years ago for doing template routing jobs that I had at the time you can use an old refrigerator compressor or an AC compressor that’s 110 I had a helium tank for the party balloons from Walmart as the in between storage on the vacuum just so I could switch ports quicker had a hand operated valve you use a ball valve and you can use quarter inch vinyl tubing just get the heavy wall stuff and you can make your own clamp down pads The way the vacuum works is that you draw the air out between the two surfaces and the atmospheric pressure causes your clamp down force and I had somewhere between 14 and 15 pounds per square inch

Pump alone is over $800 bucks the plates are about $300 . You still need everything else. Yup very pricey

It was painful watching the guy sanding the flag without a CT dust extractor from Festool.Gobs of dust but it was held nicely in place with the 1000.00 plus vacuum clamp.

What a simple minded view point. I’ve given bad reviews for free products. Maybe you are envious or just incapable of giving objective reviews. Either way, your opinion is nothing new or insightful. Assume it’s been given enough already and move along.
