Thank You for this video, I found it to be perfectly structured for a common person to understand. I wish more practitioners could combine verbal instruction with visual the way you and your team have done as the in-site lends understanding to both the body and the brain. I have found this particular skill to be a rarity in most practitioners which leaves parents uneducated in the ways that moms' body mechanics can influence babys' lie, attitude, and position as they get ready to do a thing called labor and birth. I believe it to be of utmost importance for mom and dad to be educated and empowered parents leading to them birthing their baby instead of having the baby delivered for them. We need doctors who can educate and also step in when birth is not normal, so Thank you.

But some positions should be diagnosis early in labor, for they can cause the rupture of the uterus, like the presentation of the front.. What's your approach in this case? Thank you.
@ChristopherMorosky5 жыл бұрын
What a great comment! I just gave a lecture on face and brow presentations - rare, but associated with increased risk of rupture! These presentations can be diagnosed in early labor with careful Leopold maneuvers (like we show a little in this video) and on ultrasound. As labor progresses parts of the fetal face and brow can be felt. The nose and eyes can be confused for the fontanels, but most often the digital exam is correct. I don’t have a video on this yet, but it is one that I hope to make in the near future. Thanks for your interest!

When the face is facing upward towards the right of the mother and the occiput of the fetus is facing left downward, that position is called LEFT OCCIPITO ANTERIOR. Not LEFT OCCIPITO POSTERIOR. You made a mistake there.
@ChristopherMorosky6 жыл бұрын
Nihal Thokchom Thanks for your comment. My reply is that the position of the fetal occiput is always in relationship to the mother. If the occiput is point down, then that is the mother’s posterior side, and it would be called occiput posterior. The same goes for side - right versus left. If you diagram it out, it will make more sense. Thanks for watching so closely. I hope you found this video helpful!

No mistake there. Face facing upward is not OA. The man is right.
