I feel like just because someone isn’t good at socializing shouldn’t be a turn off. I have social anxiety and I know the only way I’d go to a party is if I’m going with someone I feel safe with and I know won’t leave me. So a way of looking at it is, if you leave someone at a party and see that they’re not socializing, that probably means they’re anxious. So if you do plan on leaving someone at a party you should tell them that before you go to the party and see if they’d still wanna go or not.

I’ve found over the course of several relationships that I’m not super compatible with socially reserved people, for a variety of reasons. It doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with them, or even that I don’t like people who are that way. It just doesn’t work for me in dating relationships

I mean the person who said people are allowed to like different things is not wrong but I agree with your original comment. It’s like yes people can like different things but if you’re just looking at someone with SAD quickly and saying “ew look they can’t even talk to people lmfao turn off” without taking into consideration who they are and what they face then that’s gross to me. Not saying that’s what makayla did exactly, she didn’t really expand on why she feels that way but I think SAD people deserve more nuance in being evaluated as partners because it’s just like any other mental disorder. It’s like looking at someone with depression and saying “yeah feeling numb is just a big turn off for me Lol like if I ask you to hangout and you like can’t that day because you’re depressed I’m just like ew yikes” it’s an immature take, but like gage said still valid. It is valid to feel like people will judge you, and it's difficult to explore your sexuality when you're almost afraid of yourself.
