This was such a fun, colorful demo. I’m glad you decided to release the video, because I really enjoyed this. It’s such a weird world, and the fact that the game didn’t always explain things super well made it feel even weirder. 😂 Definitely felt like a fever dream, and I love that. This video absolutely made my day. :) When we, as developers, design a tutorial, we have to pick our battles. In a game like this, we can't explain every mechanic without making it too long and cumbersome. The goal is to introduce the core rules, give players a sense of our design philosophy, and let them discover the rest. For example, if you can destroy one deposit, you can probably smash others. You can pick up and place items like the Poppy or Egg, but with the fish, you had to figure out that it needs to go into water. So it's awesome to see that you figured it out. :) However, it’s clear the slot-crafting system wasn’t explained well-not just for you, but based on feedback from many players after the Next Fest demo. We thought once players learned to drag and drop one ingredient into a base item (like a cupcake), they’d naturally try adding more items into anything with slots. But that didn’t happen as often as we expected. :/ Also, not showing the effects of eating ingredients raw was a misstep. I’ve seen multiple playthroughs where players missed the "SLOTTED IN DISH" text and assumed those effects applied when eaten raw. That’s on us, and we need to rethink how we present that. Similarly, there’s a disconnect between the creature nurturing needs in the Briefbase and the notifications in the upper-right corner. We’ll prioritize fixing that ASAP. In any case, I’m EXTREMELY GRATEFUL that you took the time to really engage with the game-playing through it, experimenting with crafting, exploring caves, and placing seedlings. You showcased many of the cool things we’ve worked hard on. :) Thank you! P.S. Now I know where to hide some extra secrets in this level. ;)
