Hey Fex, really love all the effort you (and your team if you have one) put in to every video. I've been wanting to try a new build and the two of yours that interest me the most are the Stormblade and Rime Ronin. I've been playing my own version of the scorching slaer and feel like changing it up. I'm avoiding meta stuff. Dual Erdsteels, left is sacred, right has Parry and is keen so I can swap to a seal and blackflame/bloodflame buff then switch back to L1 spam like a madman. Challenging but very fun.

@@austinmc12 mainly if you discount looks, it would make the bloody helice just plain worse than a godskin's stitcher or great epee with the ash of war infused with blood, imagine dual wielding heavy thrusting swords, dashing around with an offensive version of bloodhounds step, hitting you with frostbite, bleeding, and poison

@@austinmc12 stat wise they outclass it heavily, and when infused with blood has enough bleed build up. Only problem is dynast finesse is exclusive, if it weren't you'd never you helice

I used the big epee in my first ever run when elden ring came out with a medium shield but quickly moved to a greatsheild, it was a very fun and rewarding run, as a knight unfamiliar with the game being able to barricade shield and poke enemies to death from safety was immensely useful. Such a great lucky find at the start of the game.

I’m currently doing a DEX/lightning build and dual wielding the Dragon King’s Cragblade w/ lighting infused Godskin Stitcher. It has been excellent. Lighting scorpion charm + Millicent’s prosthesis + Sword Insignia and then Thorny Cracked tear + Lighting Cracked tear. Really loving this combo, but it is difficult to manage stamina in NG. This might be my favorite weapon type.

For this build I would recommend using Milicents prosthesis, wingsword insignia (till you get the rotten version), Godfrey Icon and the shard of Alexander. The Godfrey Icon combined with the shard of Alexander will significantly increase the amount of damage you do, if you fully charge the dragon kings cragblade weapon art.

cragblade lends itself very well to hybrid builds. if you go to 50 dex and 46 faith you can use all the lightning incantations which are buffed by the lightning shroud cracked tear that also boosts the damage from the weapon itself. due to the dex you can also use another weapon like bolt of gransax for longer distances while using the cragblade to close up from medium distance into short range where you can continue to use it's r1 attacks or cast incantations like fortissax's lightning spear or ancient dragon's lightning strike if you're fighting enemies like dragons and magma wyrms or bosses like elden beast, godskin duo, godrick, gargoyles, dragonkin, maliketh and fire giant

I did a duel wield cold infused build with the Great Epee and GodStitcher. It was great when I paired it with sorceries. The build ended up becoming a hybrid Spell Sword build with dueling Heavy Thrusting Swords that where cold infused and Ranni’s Dark Moon for heavy damage. I would open with Ranni’s Dark Moon and follow with the swords. The idea was to trigger cold quickly and punish any time the enemy backed off with sorceries.

Great video - I'm swapping the Bloody Helice into my current Arcane focused build to see how it does. So far it's pretty cool, and I love that the AoW is a dodge, but learning how to use it properly comes with time.

Put Scholar's Shield on Fingerprint shield, then buff your block and stamina, you can hide behind it and light attack for all the bleed.

I had a buddy transfer a NG character one of my Cragblades and did a Dex based playthrough with it and loved it. used the Golden Beast Crest Shield (it's not great but it works for Guard countering) in conjunction. Easily one lf my favorite playthroughs. The Guardian swordspeer and a lightning Nobel Slender Sword on the side made great complementary weapons.

I did the same thing for phase 1. Then phase 2 I used charged Ranni’s Dark Moon and ended up killing her with 4 charged moon attacks. It felt so satisfying just spamming it.

When making a new character you can run and get bloody helice pretty quickly with a little prep with the magma wyrm being your only real blockade. Did it on my second playthrough and you can pretty much steamroll your way through most of the game.

I think the dude knows cgs are op. Theres not a lot to say. The bloodhound sword is worse (as in better) than the drake sword and black knight sword combined. Get it early on and min max for it. That's the path of least resistance in elden ring. If he had made a cgs build or cgs showcase there would be nothing left to say. It's obviously always been a labor of love for the dude.

doing a guide on curved greatswords would be great. they mostly have unique attack animations that have wide sweeping attacks apart from regular greatswords where your character slam the edge to the ground with more than half the swings. tbh outside of the knights greatswords, the regular animations for many others are not that great and often makes me miss my targets which makes me need to duel wield them to get some wide swinging attacks.

I'm on my first play through. Settling on a certain weapon is tougher than I thought. Leveling up weapons especially somber is expensive and time consuming but the being able to block while dealing damage sounds good. I've got the bloody helice and great epee. Gonna spend another round of somber stones and give her the old college try. Maybe dual wield with cold affinity on epee.
