I'm doing a variant of this build on the definitive edition and I gotta say, it's rock solid. I'm carrying a friend of mine hard just by buffing and using the encarnate, without ever using a single attack. At the start of a round, by using Flesh sacrifice and adrenaline i can cast the encarnate, cast 4 encarnate buffs ( 100% extra damage) and even cast haste on me to get AP back next round. Instead of going for INT I went full constitution and memory, making me practically unkillable (Magic armor from int based armor, Physical armor from shield). I have pretty much all buffs/ heals i can have, widow summon if needed and other summons as well, all infusions for my encarnate, and some minor offensive spells for surface management. (35 memory) Love your content guys! :D

Do you play lone wolf? Even though the vid says not recommended in lone wolf, I'm thinking this can still be viable building con and wits to begin with and then int and memory later when you have more skills and need to add more to the damage.

I'm finding Stormchaser to be a very effective partner for Druid in a 2 wolves setup. Especially with a storm-infused incarnate champion wrecking shit back to back, while the druid keeps buffs coming.

here is a trick i just discovered. Keep your summoner (and party members) out of combat range and summon your incarnate within combat range, so that the incarnate will initiate a fight without your party. While out of range, your summoner (and the rest of your party) can just keep buffing the incarnate (or multiple incarnates) from far away, and their abilities will cool down right away because they're not in the fight.

Amazing build, more Shamanist! But I agree the name threw me off due to being called a Druid, and everyone who played WoW knows that a Druid is more of morphing character. I renamed this build for myself as more of a Shaman build. Awesome video as well cheers m8.

Depends on what exactly you take as your druid template. I agree that a dude summoning an elemental spirit out of thin air and then uses the elements to strengthen it would be more aptly called a "shaman", but there are pop culture druids ranging from tree hugging hippies to guys transforming into and/or summoning animals (the current D&D class is mostly focused on that), which would allow for a polymorph summoner build... and of course everything in between is also not unheard of.

I really wish the game had a more transformation skills like bears, wolves etc, it would make for interesting builds like a warrior turning into a bear or an assassin turning into a cheetah/ panther.

No it can't. You are using the Incarnate's ability to be buffed and change elements in this Build so it cannot work with Bone Widow.

@@Fextralife I have the bone widow as an alternative just in case the encarnate for some reason gets focused and killed, I can have a summon while the cooldown resets as a last resort. Most of the times is not necessary since the encarnate is a beast, but since the widow scales off of summoning it's pretty good as a back up and as a way to take aggro.

Heya Fextralife! I enjoyed the video. I had a question for you though. I’ve been using a very similar build but using a melee weapon to take advantage of battle stomp and battering ram. I find them to be my two favorite buttons to use constantly. Am I missing a reason why using a wand (and losing access to those two ridiculous awesome aoe knockdown skills) is worthwhile? You an absolutely do that, but the problem with Summoners is they don't generally have AP to 1) Summon, 2) Move and 3) Attack. They can usually do two of those things. If enemies are in range those skills would work really well, but if they aren't then they don't. Usually the Summoner is behind this Incarnate, so that's why I don't have them.

Thanks for the reply Fextra! I think part of it is that I’m only lvl 7 and on tactician, so fights last fairly long and I don’t have many skills yet. Also, I’m using a mainly physical damage party, so Magic’s crowd control isn’t used much. Most of my fights seem to be a quick rush to break armor, and then a slower cc train to actually kill things. Maybe as I get more skills I won’t rely on my summoners Warfare crowd control. I’d love to not have to buff strength to hold a melee weapon.

They put these names precisely because they sound cool, this build doesnt manipulate nature or summon forest creatures (instead a demonlike incarnate) but because gameplay-wise it focuses on buffing and healing while using multiple elements, the name druid fits quite well if only when it comes to gameplay.

Im playing as Red Prince and Im going for a Huntsman/Polymorph build and so far to lvl 14 its been going good so far, but recent playtimes its been going rather bad, DMG output is low I feel alot more squishy and I feel useless compared to my friends and even when I play with BOTS :-( I wanna be helpful to my friends not a burden T.T My build: Weapons - Spear and Crossbow Poly - 5 Huntsman - 5 Ranged - 5 Two Handed 4 Finesse 23 Strenght 22 Int 12 Con 15 Memory 17 Wit 20 Someone told me that most of what I do is ok but that I should max out Warfare and that I only need 15 in strenght and max out finesse and get high Wit but problem is I dont know if its viable or if I have done everything wrong. So it would mean alot to me if anyone that has more knowledge about these things could give me a solid and detailed breakdown about what I have done wrong and what I can do to make my character not suck. Ok so for starters you should remove points from Polymorph and put them into Warfare. Just keep 1 or 2 there in order to use skills you want. Remove all points from Ranged and Two-Handed and put them into Warfare. Then any left over points should go into Ranged or Two-Handed. Remove all points into Strength that are not needed for Armor requirements and dump them into Finesse. Spears scale only with Finesse, so you don't need any Strength at all really. This should help you out a lot.

It's quite simple really. Neither Summoning nor Healing Spells gain any benefit from Intelligence, so you just need to pump up Summoning and Hydrosophist.

I was thinking possibly of having a ranger for physical damage (i.e. Ifan) or an elementalist (i.e. red prince) to help control the environment around Sibelle to better summon incarnate and keep the party consisting of two characters to make use of “lone wolf.” What do you think of this? healing / summoner I think is probably a waste for a Lone Wolf setup because killing things is better than healing. With only 2 characters, you will be light on damage this way. With a full party, you can get away with it a bit better.

I’m making a pure physical party and was wondering if this kind of build works, maybe as a tank? I don’t think I need as much memory since I’ll be using the blood incarnate and I’m an elf so I can always get blood. My plan, since I’ll be low on AP and buff don’t seem to scale off intelligence, wad be to help my incarnate tank. Getting hit takes zero AP. I have a warden (your build) a necromancer and a rogue, focused on burning down physical armor asap.

I started my first Summoner as a tank and found that I needed to move to hit targets and since I had little AP every turn from Summoning/Buffing this didn't work so well. Pumping Warfare would increase the damage of Bouncing Shield though, which is good. I just don't see how it would work well though unless you could guarantee enemies hit your tank. Perhaps making him a Glass Cannon?

Castielle Fextralife just talking about using mobility skills and taunt occasionally. As is I hardly ever have the AP to do much other than buff my summon and summon the totems. My damage always seems to be shit either way, but with my party being really good at burning down physical armor I could throw in a crippling blow or a knockdown here and there so they can’t get to my team. Again, I have a shield, stupid amounts of armor recovery, tons of spells used to position or buff my incarnate. It just seems silly to let all that tankiness go to waste. Really it’s just coming down to where I want to spend my attribute points after maxing summoning and having healthy amounts in geo and hydrosophist.

I totally understand what you are saying. If you take Summoning your own personal damage suffers no matter what you do compared with other party members, and is one of the reasons I made this build.

maybe you should read carefully the issue I was pointing out before responding with irrelevant jibber jabber. So let me repeat the quote one more time "Druids don't do much direct damage, but when they do, they want their *_spells_* to hit as hard as they can. Thus the intelligence." So again, he's talking about *spells* , while the only attack spell he uses, that is affected by intelligence, is global cooling. This part could use rethinking his approach to allocating attributes and spells. If he has nothing else to spend his attribute points on, he can just say that, but he shouldn't make it sound like using INT-based spells is a part of this build, when he uses a single spell of that type. On a side note, to respond to your wand attack suggestion, that's just not part of this build, and the rare wand attack doesn't justify any of this or explain the mistake.

I believe this would go well with your Tectonic Sage build. Fane as an undead being tectonic sage, Sebille as a Druid (with Rooted as plus 3 in memory). The incarnate will be basically unkillable and enemies will practically not move, because of Tectonic CC.

I think if you wanted you could also use a bow for the druid class, so you could keep even more distance. That's what I did, and it worked really well.

I feel like the point is, you're never wasting ap on shootin a bow or waving your wand. The wand is just fot stat bonuses not damage, and the shield provides armour'

I 100% unintentionally built this without looking at guides, except I was 1 to 1 with memory and intelligence, and a went more heavily into necromancer so I can use Bone widow. Having a second summon like the Widow was actually really nice for longer encounters just in case. Plus the widow is really powerful until you can get the summoning 10 Incarnate.

Would a rogue/summoner build work? I'm thinking of a Phys damage character who ignores armour via scoundrel abilities to cause rupture tendons and create blood pools to summon an incarnate in to act as a tank while the rogue/summoner flits around the battlefield boosting characters and healing for the rest of the battle. (Sort of a cause as much damage as quickly as possible, summon an incarnate, get out, boost/(maybe heal?) for the rest of the fight. Would this be possible/effective? Possible weaknesses could be knockdown, rupture tendons, bleeding, which could be lessened by the glass cannon ability (to maximize the effect of first turn), and pairing up with a Druid to help boost/heal both incarnates.

Probably but if you go rouge/summon with glass cannon wont they all just go for you instead of your incarnate

My friend and I did a coop tactician lone wolf run where I went Finesse/Summoning with Fane and it actually worked incredibly well. Since I had to find high ground to maximize my range for buffs anyway, Huntsman skills + high ground and a bow seemed like a good choice, especially since my incarnate was primarily doing elemental damage. I almost never used source infusions since I was typically better off spending my source points on time warps, totems of the necromancer (which scales off summoning lol), or skin graft. Giving my incarnate source points was almost always a waste when I could just spend them on more action economy. While I was a secondary damage dealer, I could approach respectable damage with high ground, and through special arrows, I had a ton of cc options (don't sleep on knockdown or elemental arrows). While incarnate and other player were whacking enemies into submission, I could hamper enemies they couldn't get to, or tactically redeploy them using nether swap. tl;dr: Finesse bow summoner is definitely not a build to sleep on. 2-3 point dips in everything but warfare, max out Summoning, 3-5 points in necromancy, and everything else in Huntsman. Memory #1, Finesse and Wits tied for #2 (going first with a character like this is so important).
