The creator of Fez cancelled it's sequel after a long argument on twitter. This video just pokes fun at his complaining and behavior.
I haven't played the first Fez but I hear it's good.

I saw a new National Geographic special detailing the everyday life of Philorician Ichthyoid, aka the Phil Fish. It is quite fascinating. Two important aspects of note: 1. The Phil Fish are born near the Pacific Ocean. They are nurtured near Japanese beaches but once it reaches teenage years they exit the mainstream and look back at the channel with disdain. 2. They don't travel in schools. Instead it opts to travel by WAAAAHmbulance.

Phil Fish can be a dick at times, but he doesn't deserve whats been happening to him this past week. I really hope he resolves any problems he has within himself and continues to work on Fez 2, because Fez was amazing.

This could take a while.. It took Fish 4 years to make Fez 1, it was a good game but not at all worth all the attention it was getting. The first two years fish was getting support... Then hate because it was taking him SO LONG to make an indie game. This was his FIRST game. Also, he had no experience with pixel art. ALSO: He was an ass to his co-worker so he quit. Anyways, that was the drama around Fez 1. For Fez 2? I think he's just trying to avoid a repeat.

I don't think its the gimmick of switching the worlds that makes this game work. Because i have seen similar ideas before. I think its the charm of the little animations on fez, the characters, and world around him that give the game just enough personalty to be fun. If people knew there was a lot of hype around this game that probably means they did some research but people will always buy games on impulse. It's part of the fun. Not knowing what you're getting yourself into sometimes.

Because someone was mean to Phil Fish on the internet. I'm not even kidding. He even outright says he's sick of this bullshit, so he's cancelling Fez 2 (though he insists THIS ONE SINGLE PERSON is not to blame, but that it's because he's not alone). Basically, Fez 2 was cancelled because Phil Fish can dish it out but god forbid he taste his own medicine.

I'm certainly not saying he's handled this well, and I'll admit that I don't know all of the details in this situation, but I'm just saying that he has every right to quit if he feels there is too much stress/hate coming his way. Some people can tune this stuff out, other have it get to them or it gets too serious to ignore. sure it'd been nice if he could just get past it, but he's well within his right to just stop. it's just part of being a content creator. he doesn't owe you a second game.

I may not like Phil Fish but I still think Fez was a great game. I can't understand why so many people say its crappy. Its fun, beautiful looking, has great music, and is kinda challenging. There was a lot of hard work put into that game. And i think it is very charming and cute. It's not my favorite game but it is far from crappy. So in that way, i guess i did care a little about Fez 2 and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Also great video! very funny and clever.

you know, it's not like he just got one abusive comment and gave up. it was a torrent of abuse and eventually there was just a few exchanges which were the straw that broke the camels back. I'm sure he had very thick skin to last as long as he did, but thick skin isn't an impervious shield. people have breaking points, and if you're a content creator who gets any kind of attention, you'll come close to/reach yours. I'm sure he could have handled it better, but I don't blame him for leaving.

Having haters is nothing new, he isn't special, he needs to realize this. He thinks he is the messiah, the coming storm, the NEXT BIG THING IN THE INDIE GAMING WORLD! He needs to realize that no one really cares about him, just his products. And after some of the stuff that he has said about gamers (calling them the worst kind of person in the world) or just how he responded to the hate... I'm not saying he deserved it, but he was BEGGING for it and I give him no sympathy.
