This is the build video and plan release notice for the FF-35V2 (Prop Version) RC plane. This DIY scratch build plane is loosely based on and inspired by the F-35C Lightning II Navy variant. The plane is made from cheap Dollartree Foamboard with added electronics. Though not 100% scale looking, it does have a fun resemblance to the real plane. Flies great and fun to build. Thank you for the comment izwanmohd. The FF-35V2 is a nice fun plane to make and flies well. The 70mm EDF version or this Prop version are both really nice flyers.

Thank you cirandavideo! The old FF-22 was one of my very early foamboard planes. I am thinking of making a version 2 of it sometime soon and making it a lot more scale looking and an EDF version.

As always, it's a super design. Wish I had more time to get into building. Miss those days we were building these designs. Paul have you heard anything from Jacque? Haven't seen or heard from him in ages.

Thanks for the positive comment Gregg! Yes, I miss the old days with everyone making planes and videos. Now it's just me, LOL. I have not heard from Jacques in several years. He was doing his own large scale drone business a while back, but don't think he does that anymore either after DJI cornered the market. He has not posted any RC videos in many years. Tim and Jon of the Bloody Micks aren't really making videos either. Tim still fliesRC when he can and does the Hermann Night Fly every year still. Jake left the MESA rcFoamfighters school and went to another school. He also was working with Flite Test for a while in the Stem program. Not sure if he still is. Even my brother Frank isn't flying much these day since I moved to New Mexico, LOL. Doing my best to carry on rcFoamFighters by myself lately.

Looking forward to this maiden flight, I will go for the prop version over the edf because of the foam weight issue I mentioned in my previous post here in UK,still going hybrid. I am presuming that its same dimentions as edf version so just need to down load the plan for the motor mount tube components ? Thanks for this, feels like old times. Jez 😊

Thank you jeremysaunders9916! I already did the maiden flight and posted a video with the first test plane of the FF-35V2 with a prop. It flew great! I will try and get out and fly this one soon and post a video also when I can. This is a full separate plan for the FF-35V2 Prop Version since there are a few different parts to cut out overall. Thank you WarbirdFan66! Both planes fly great, but the Prop version has a bit more thrust and flies more authoritative. The EDF is not bad though with a decent EDF. The EDF version sounds better and looks better with no visible prop and motor out back.

How long you usually take to build this model from cutting the board to finish?

@MatriculationPhysics I can usually build this FF-35V2 plane from start to finish in one weekend. For someone building it for the first time or new to foamboard building it may take a bit longer since the cutting and hot glueing may be a little slower. The more of these type of foamboard planes you build the faster it will be. I just recommend taking your time, review the notes on the plan and always cut with nice sharp blades for smooth cuts.
