@@selpharessecret3899 Same. I got the chills the first time I saw his true form. Going back and watching the scenes from his memories makes the perspective make sense because all the people in his memories are looking down at him and it made me cry knowing they groomed and possibly even created a child to be a sacrificial lamb.
@Umega1013 жыл бұрын
@@LegendaryDorkKnight It's sad that people seem to gloss over the part of his stature. One ... either Ascians had smaller races too (and perhaps that's where lalafells sundered lifeforce come from) ... or he was a child. I find the latter more likely. Which leads to Two ... He was meant to be the heart of the savior. He also was the WoL for his people when he was the last unsundered. All the hopes and dreams of his people and world rested on him ... just like us when we played all those Final Fantasy's as the WoL when we were children. The symbolism of what Elidibus represented to me was a that of a mirror. Where are our memories tho...? The whole underlying framework of FFXIV's story narrative is "Memories". It is a part of nearly every relevant story/subplot. Remember what Emet last said to you. And how you set Elidibus free. Yet .... where are our memories? Very cloudy our memories are, while Zenos has had visions of Amaurot since he was a child ...

I liked HW and Gaius for the same reason. Nidhogg's got a pretty reasonable thing to go off about and Gaius just didn't want primals to exist to keep wrecking shit.
@BullsMahunny4 жыл бұрын
@@Reavyr Gaius also is far more intelligent than he was let on to be. Gaius knows what's going on in terms of primals, the death of the star Hydaelyn and the fact that the empire is manufacturing cataclysmic weapons of mass destruction, namely the Black Rose. Once he figured that out, he started his crusade against the Ascians who manipulated and turned Garlemald into what it is. Gaius knows the history of the planet and the Primals, although forces to be reckoned with isn't so much the issue as is the amount of aether they take to summon. The Wasteland was proof of what happens when you bleed a land of it's aether and Garlemald was terrified of that happening.

I couldn't help but to cry - especially at the end of this piece. The fading Amaurotine was the most brilliant touch. Emet will be forever loved as the best Villain ever written in my eyes. No novel or movie has topped him for me - even among the greats. Emet-Selch made you feel for him like you've never felt for a villain before. Who could imagine EONS.. of despair and longing for that which you've lost? Mortals can barely fathom the loss of just one, let alone an entire world and all those in it.
