アーモロートの広大な街の影を見た時エメトセルクの哀しみを見た気がした。動ける場所はあれだけしか無い街なのにあんなに大きな街の影を正確に再現して自分達の文化を生活を残そうと思い出そうとしている。どんなに仲間を愛し人々を想っていたかそしてそれを失くした自分がどんなに哀しかったか。。。。寂しかったんだろうな。そう思うと泣けてくる。偉大なもの程孤独だという。エメトセルクはいやアシエンは本当に偉大だったのかもしれない。

I lost it at 2:25 when my eyes focused on what I saw. Yep, all the waterworks started and I ran out of tissue to catch my feelings, snot, and tears from falling. The last words have different nuances than the English one since I speak Japanese. 「ならば、覚えていろ。私たちは確かに生きていたんだ」-> "Then remember. We were certainly alive." while the english one plainly says "Remember us, remember that we once lived" Overall meaning is pretty similar though however since he did a bet with the WoL where the winner takes the control of the fate of the star, the Japanese one makes more impact because of the one word 「ならば」. Since you have won, then remember us, remember that we once lived. Remember our legacy. Emet-sad :(

Emet Selch is dead, his soul has been destroyed. Zeno didn't die because of his articial echo power which enabled him to take over another body is the same fashion as an Ascian.

That's what makes him a villain so compelling and relatable. Was he really wrong? If you were in his place, wouldn't you do everything in your reach to save your people, you family, your loved ones? And what makes this decision even more easier to him is the fact that, in his point of view, the denizens of the actual world aren't real people, but small pieces of the original ones, pieces that he want to make whole again. This is the kind of villain I like to see. Way better than Zenos, who was extremely one-dimensional.

推測でしかありませんが、エメトセルクは最終戦直前にかつての仲間の影を見たことで、万が一自分が負けたときのことを考え、英雄の中で蝕んでいる"光"を全力で立ち向かうことで取り除こうとしたのではないか、と考えてしまいます。 敵対している光の戦士に対して必須条件ではないにも関わらず手を取ろうとするくらい、エメトセルクは優しいですから…。 個人的に今作が1番良かったです。ありがとうございました。

Sometimes I come back to this video. To date, Emet-Selch is the most human antagonist I have ever seen in a video game. I play with Japanese audio, even if I can only understand a little bit of it. Nonetheless, his voice actor absolutely kills it. He is all I wanted him to be, and more. I was completely heartbroken when we killed him. I felt as though I was killing a friend. In his own rights, Emet was the hero in his story.
