While sounding less comical than the original, I think this arrangement provides more mystery and pressure from the townsfolk who Cecil stumble upon. I'd feel greater fear walking in a village full of people I harmed with this soundtrack.

I’ve always both loved and feared the whimsical nature of this theme. The unsettling undertones you’ve created make one feel exactly how Cecil must have felt upon entering the town again, not as conquerer but as conquered and seeking mercy from a people who have every to withhold it. I wish FFIV would get the same Netflix treatment as Castlevania, and I also wish you could be approached to cover the music for it.

That would be the best thing possible! Thanks! ^_^ (That show is so neat.)

A FF4 (6 would be a good idea too) animated series could be awesome, but I would expect better treatment than Castlevania. The first season only had 4 episodes and we've been waiting over a year for the second.

Wow! That's amazing :D Sounds so psychedelic and also so mystic :) I remember the impact that had in myself when the ship with Cecil, Yang, Edward and Rydia got trapped under Leviathan's rage and after that Cecil gets awakened on the desert area near Mysidia. And the surprise to see how the people despised him so much (even poisoning, turning him into a Frog and others :P ). But also was so touching to see the forgiving heart of the Elder, and not happy with that, giving you the VALUABLE partnership of Palom and Porom (I love to use them, and I LOVED when they became usable again in the GBA version after the Bab-il Giant stuff :D ).

this is why I love going through your backlog there is always something I have yet to listen to that is just waiting to blow me away and this is no exception I love the style of music you are using here because it is so fitting to what happens in game and the instruments you chose are a feast for my ears I delight in every sound what a magnificent soundscape I enjoy many types of music but I always find myself coming back to you for a bit of musical rest so I can center myself once again I look forward to exploring more of your music and finding more gems like this

This is a mesmerizing part of the game because of the loneliness and mystery of this new place that is discovered. This is where I was really pulled into the spirit of Final Fantasy 4. Nice touch to this remix. It keeps the spirit of the song while increasing the focus of this epic story. Great work!

This actually fits the tone of the game the first time you visit mysidia. Much more somber but still magical and ethereal. Maybe after Cecil’s transformation it could change to the original song much more whimsical and magical.

Hey Rebecca, have you ever thought about making orchestrated/hylian chamber choir remixes of the LoZ OoT URA’s soundtrack? The project may be more or less dead but the soundtrack is amazing. Whole thing is on KZbin too.
@RebeccaETripp6 жыл бұрын
I never thought about it. I'm not really familiar with it!
@jasonwilt39036 жыл бұрын
So it was meant to initially be a beta restoration mod for OoT, then the guys making it started wanting to do more than that, bit off more than they could chew, fought a bit, and the project imploded. In particular they were looking to sorta merge OoT’s world with ALttP. They had concept art for an OoT-lookalike Dark World. But the soundtrack was done superbly by the guy named nitroflasher. He took it down when things imploded but people reposted it on KZbin afterwards. New Dungeon Themes from URA - Temple of Light - Lakebed Grotto - Turtle Rock - Palace of Ice - Palace of Darkness - Palace of Souls - Palace of the Marsh - Palace of Earth - Palace of Wind - Palace of Thunder - and probably another one or two I’m forgetting.

Super well done, you capture the mystique perfectly. I am such a big fan of ur ff4 interpretations, because so much of what you seek to convey, and eloquently describe in your write-ups, matches the same type of feelings and emotions that I got when playing the game for the first time as a child. There's something about the power of the music in that game that resonates on a deeper level which transcends space and time. This feels like one of your bolder takes on ff4 songs, and I think it's all the better for it. The eastern psychedelic vibes really help push the mystique, and the richness of the instruments as a whole help to transport the listener into the Mysidian realm as if they were right there with them. Lastly, the chanting, and heaviness of sound that accompanies it is such a nice addition to this song. It was upon hearing that where the song really spoke to me, and weaved a new layer of depth into the mythos behind the culture. Anyway, great work! Glad to see you posting new stuff again.

thx for the reply. How was the concert? I tried watching it thru ur twitter link, but the sound is all buggy. :/ Also, I see you follow Something Classic, have u played Shadows of Adam? I am the art director for that game. We took a lot of inspiration from the old classics and tried to recreate the feeling you'd get from playing them as a kid or for the first time.
