I love it. Someone should contact the guys who worked on it to include the Ted Woolsey Translation Patch. I’ve been having difficulty with it lately, so just throwing it out there.

Heyo, I'm actually the lead developer and applying the Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition is actually one of the options in the installer, and has been for about a year or so. That said, I don't know if our version is 100% up to date with what's on romhacking.net anymore, so I need to make sure of that in case there have been bug fixes lately. I haven't had a lot of time to work on this lately sadly. Glad you enjoy it!

@@dizzym9554 Yes, it's great. I think I'm having trouble with the Woolsey patch in particular. I'm using SD2SNES right now. If I can figure out more of whats happening I'll post it on romhacking or zeldix. It's exciting to have an option to pair those two together at any rate. Thanks for all the hard work.

Does anyone know of a way to get MSU-1 to work on ff6 t-edition today?
@dizzym9554 Жыл бұрын
Developer here. I'm not all that familiar with T-edition. To put it in technical terms, if it doesn't touch bank C5 of the ROM, which is almost entirely music code, it should be fine to mix with Dancing Mad. Generally speaking you want to apply the other patch IPS first and then the dancing mad one, which you can manually apply by getting the patch from the "patch" directory on github. So, if you want to use the installer as it currently stands, you'd feed the installer a normal unpatched rom so that it doesn't complain, then delete the ROM it spits out, then take the same unpatched ROM, patch T-edition onto it, then patch ff3msu.ips onto that, and stick it where the patched ROM from the installer went, with the same filename. No guarantees it'll work, but also no particular reason it shouldn't. Script changes *may* break a couple of the workarounds that were put in to e.g. get the Phantom Train scene working properly, but those are minor problems imo.

Is this the Dancing Mad version? Or OC Remix?

Will we have a different option without the voices? I personally don't really like it, otherwise great work though, can't wait to test the finished product out with Woolsey's Uncensored Translation.

As an alternative, would an english version such as this one be possible instead? This one has coughing and other audience noise though so something else would have to be used. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIe0eHepoZuGpdk

There's a few other versions of the opera we're considering as potential alternatives, all of them voiced. I think at least one might be in English, but I'm not sure, as I'm not the one editing the Opera tracks. The necessary edits are extensive due to the tight timing of these scenes, and I'm no audio engineer. That said, if you're unhappy with the options available, you always have the option to choose the OST, and then you get CD quality versions of the original music.

Wonderful, thanks for the reply man, again great work from everyone! I can't express how much I appreciate this project, FF6 is my favorite game of all time and I look forward to playing through it with this MSU-1.

does the msu-1 create any slowdown or other issues?
@dizzym95546 жыл бұрын
wuffy I've not noticed any issues of slowdown in my testing, and those who've tested it on an SD2SNES on real hardware (I've not been able to yet) haven't noticed anything that I'm aware of. That said, there's currently some work being done, specifically on adding fading in and out of music, that has shown minor slowdown in tests. I'm trying to figure out a solution to that though. Long story short, no, with the currently available version of the hack there's no slowdown.
