Just a heads up for people watching in 2020. Make sure to dip your hands in the hot spring before you go after the materia. Otherwise the lady won’t fight you. Also make sure that Cloud hasn’t fainted up until this point.

Whoa!!! Thanks for the vid, dude, in my first try i stucked there for months...i decided to play it again on a few weeks, ya know, living the good 'ole days and stuff.... god, THANK YOU! every walkthrough I read said, "touch the hot springs and wander around until you find a cave. enter the cave and fight the woman in purple to recieve alexander materia."

On the screen he is on 00:10 second into the video, you have to go down to the hot spring and touch it. If you skip it like he did, the girl won't fight you.

you need to make sure that you have been to the hot springs and touched the water, if you take too long after touching the water your hands will go cold again and she wont fight you

@TheDextruction with EMERALD WEAPON, for some reason, if you receive its most powerful attack with 9 or most materias equipped, you damage is 9999, if you have 4 materias your damage is 4444, i recommend w-summon + knights of round and then use mime, then you use knights of round 4 times

This whole "Side Quest" always seemed impossible without a Cheat Guide! What were the designers thinking?! There were no hints along the way that you would need to touch the hot spring then find this random woman? It made no sense that anyone could figure this out without a Walkthrough Guide! Am i missing something? Was there something earlier in the game that hinted "Once in the snow fields, touch the hot Spring and find the girl in the cave"? This whole side quest is so random!

WOAH! I went through this like 400 times on my own and never found it, only to finally be taught it's REALLY a mimic screen to the North East, East of the center ice cave place on the snow map.

@TheDextruction only real tips i can offer is for ruby use dazers and KO two members of the party until his arms are in the ground then revive them prevents him removing someone from battle completely. other than this abuse the lucky 7's with something like omnislash / meteor rain or barrets urgamax (angermax). (easiest way to get lucky 7's is to get your health to any number lower than 7777 that ends in 77 then use potions to top them up to 7777)

The best thing to do is to level all your materias and party members up by using the elixer/magic pot trick with the W-item glitch.

if you collapse or whatever and get taken to the house at the bottom of the cliff when you come out the house walk back to the snow field. once there go forward as straight as possible when you exit the field you should be on the path to the hot springs

ive searched for a while trying to find a way to do this.... however the only thing i found anything like it was just a patch changing the music from .midi to the version used in the PSX version.... sorry

hmmm now theres a problem .... if you press select i think it is you can bring up a map of the area just look for the closest lankmark and then follow paths in the general direction of the hot spring

howdey uh most probably your hand / finger / whatever has gone cold since you touched the hotspring go back to the hot spring and touch it again then do the same as before

once you aquire the highwind you can fly to the ice area land enter the town and snowboard back down into the area .... ...in short yes lol

For Emerald use knights of round and keep using mimic, also Final attack - revive and knights of round with at least 3 stars would be usefull. You can kill ruby by killing other 2 members than all you need is hp absorb - knights of round and mime, just keep miming knights of round and you'll be healing fromself.

yes, you can either get there using the snowboard as i did, or if you have a mountain chocobo or higher you can enter the great glacier bygoing down the hill behind the town.

sorry I didn't really explain this if you run along the edge of the water on the left-hand side pressing the "use" button, at one point cloud will kneel down and put his hand into the water.

nope that is the battle music from trinity blood (an anime). but as i said run around till you find a noticeable landmark (such as the lake etc) and find your way from there. OR! once you faint / get frozen and go to the cabin come out go down away from the mountain and your be at the ice field landmark (big wide area) then walk straight forward from where you start your end up leaving the area from the downward path (toward the hotsprings) hope it helps!

@weiselwitz yup just get in the highwind or get on to the right chocobo and you can re-enter. #1 from the town (doing the snowboarding again) or #2 with a mountain chocobo+ you can enter by going around the town to the bottom of the hill behind it.

not as far as i know just go to mount nibel (behind nibelhem village) and on the first path screen it is on one of the 3 peaks in the back ground OR You can buy it in junon weapon shop on or after disc 2

ive seen a patch around which allows you to change game sounds so yes it is possible WITH THE PC VERSION!! (i highly doubt it would work with an emulation) i will try find the link for you
